Good phone bad reception
In my 3 years with verizon i have owned about 6 phones and tested many phones.This phone is used in central California. Surprisingly this is the only phone that i have had with bad reception. I came to this site to check reviews on this specific phone.
All the reviews praise the reception. On my particular phone is is the weakest point. Calls sound so choppy I am sometimes forced to end the call. I was hoping this phone was going to carry me for the rest of my contract until 2009 but I am going to have to spend some big money in the $300 range to get a phone with no contract. I am switching to motorola again. Louder volume and better reception is the reason.

it's all good but..............mp3 !!!!!!
i got the lg8600 for Xmas and I'm still learning new things about the phone everyday. But the issue i have with the phone is the mp3 sound is low in the ear buds, even with the ear buds option turn all the way up it's still not loud enough for my liking. Now i don't need blast so other around me can hear threw the ear buds but i like it a little louder than what the 8600 can offer. just a little bit.
also why can can we record a minute of sounds and not use it as a ring tone or text alerts.
all and all the lg8600 is by far the best cell phone I've ever owned.

I had been keeping my eye on this little beauty for a long time and when it finally came out I ran to Verizon to get it.
Pros-
Thin, sleek and loaded with features. Made by LG which time and time proves to be awesome for me. The quality you expect at a price that you really don't. This phone really is for anyone that wants an awesome phone, but wants something slimmer than the VX8300.
Cons-
Only one, fingerprints!
Loving it
When I switched to Verizon Wireless I originally got an LG VX8700 phone. It was ok, but had some reception problems. I returned it and got an 8600 and I love it. Call quality is better, though not by a great deal, and the reception is excellent.
Pro:
Call Quality - Many times people can't tell I'm on a cell phone.
Reception - Excellent. Best I have had on a cell phone in a long long time.
Battery life - Very good.
Con:
Hinge seems to be a little weak on my wife's phone. Mine however is fine.
Fingerprint magnet. Honestly though who cares?
Perfect
This phone is perfect for my needs. I love the voice features and the beautiful screens. This phone is thin and light, and really does an excellent job (no lag, built solid, and it feels expensive). Sound quality is superb, and my ringers sound awesome. This phone is a really good buy!
Speakerphone is a bit low though...I am sure this will be fixed w/ future software upgrades.

Call quality is great. I haven't had any calls dropped and people don't think I am on a cell.
fingerprints...if you're a maniac but can be wiped so easily, it's no big deal.
Best cell phone I've ever owned!
I bought this phone for it's form factor, its ability to play as a music player and its price. So far I've not been disappointed.
It's as thin as the razr, but narrower. You can open and control the music player with the phone closed. The inside and outside displays are very sharp.
One surprising feature is that when you are listening to music and someone calls, once you finish the call, it automatically reverts back to the song you were playing. You don't have to restart the music player and go to were you left off, like you do with other phones.

Overall I am very satisfied with this phone and recommend it to everyone.
1 word to describe " perfection "
OK i finally got the phone, after playing with it placing a few calls all i have to say is wow it is beautiful. best looking verizon phone out period. Calls are nice and clear and loud and the reception is great every where, But i show 1 or 2 bars in my basement where i live but no dropped calls as of yet. The UI in this phone is great also unlike other verizon phones, i like the VZW setting best. media keys work perfect and bluetooth works great with my motorola h700. It does fall in one area though, the speaker phone is not loud its just ok. But all in all i love this phone and verizon has another hit.

I love this phone so much and it's so sexy, I think I'm gonna put it on vibrate in my jeans pocket! :-)

Obviously, size and form factor.
Very light.
Not limited to the regular VZW UI with the ugly red bars.

As on other recent LG models you can set it to say who's calling before the ringtone plays - love that.
Did I say it was sexy?!
Cons:
Ability to assign caller ID/no caller ID/unavailable # separate ringtones like previous LG's had has been removed.

There is not much to say. This phone Rocks!!!!! It has been 4 hours and it has everything anyone could want as far as I can tell. The speaker phone is weak, but it is worth that sacrifice. The best part is, I do not have to pay Verizon for rings, or hack the phone!!!!! I never thought I would say I like a phone better than the 8000. All there is to say is THIS PHONE ROCKS!!!!! P.S. I have fat fingers and do not have any problems with the key pad.
