more phone than I need

Nov 30, 2007 by rytiffany

I can't say this phone is weak. It's a pretty nice phone for what it is. I don't need a PDA or windows mobile or anything like that so it's way more than I want or will use.

Pros:
Screen
Browser
Media player (though no EQ)
Smart Backlight for keypad
keypad
External Speaker
MP3 that you don't have to pay for again, just copy and paste to MyDocuments\MyRingtones.

Cons:
Lagging while texting
sound quality of voice calls
MP3player sound quality was muffled

My only beef with this phone is the sound. Through the ear piece during voice calls it sounds like there is a ton of reverb. Headphones sounded muffled and the windows media player doesn't have an EQ, which isn't life or death but in all honesty when I saw "windows Media Player" I thought of an EQ. You can do some minor adjustments by going into accessories and Audio enhancement but it still doesn't fix the problem. I still liked the media player though quite a am a person that hates to repeat himself, which brings me to the other beef: when talking, way too often the other person would ask me what I said and then ask if I turned the volume down while I touched nothing. Don't know what the deal is with that but I can't stand that.

On the positive side, the external speaker sounds great as far as phones go, both for music and speaker phone. I also heard that voice calls actually sound clearer on speaker than regularly.

Overall I like the phone, and it was tempting to keep it but I'm still just going to end up downgrading, I guess, to a Voyager. I really won't use all that this phone has to offer. I just use the internet, make calls, send texts and listen to tunes at work or working out. I don't do spreadsheets or word docs or presentations or take my laptop around enough to justify the PDA data plan. If you need a PDA, I'd say go for it. I can't knock it for it being too much for me.

YUCK !!!

Bought this phone about 2 months ago, enjoyed it for the first day or so. I have learned that when you mix Motorola with Windows the results are very poor. Phone constantly had to be reset, would just turn its self off or freeze up for no reason at all. I bought the new BlackBerry Pearl the day it became available and have no complaints what so ever. I will never buy anything Motorola again !!!

I thought I owned bad phones... until now!

My company got me this phone back in September because they wanted me to be connected to my e-mail... that would be a lot easier if the thing wouldn't freeze up on me all the time! I had a Motorola Razr before & I thought that had it's bad points, but it looks like a gem compared to this thing!

Pros:
* The keyboard is nice

Cons:
* The battery life is awful
* The picture quality is awful, plus there's a stupid delay on the picture so the person has already moved away by the time it takes!
* It freezes up & the screen turns white & the only way to fix it is to remove the battery.
* Half the time the 7/z button doesn't work & wouldn't you know that's in most of my passwords?
* The calculator is a cool feature on phones, but this one has it on the 3rd menu screen! You have to scroll through EVERY application & the calc is the 2nd to last!

The bottom line, if I had done this review the first week I had this phone, it would have probably got a 4-5, after 2 months, I can barely give it a 1!

Not the greatest

I work for a mobile software company so I have every single available device in my hand everyday. When I seen this phone I immediately though "Very nice". I got it the first day it came out and although the look of it is fantastic, it could've been better.

Its way to heavy and long for a Pda.

I barely got 2 bars in my location in the bay area.

After 2 days, it went straight to a white screen!

Maybe the first batch that was shipped to Verizon were bad, who knows but comparing the old Q's issues with this, I would just suggest Motorola give up on Pda's.

PRO's:

Nice looking phone with great picture resolution. I would say this phone is user friendly and easy to get in and out of programs. This is my first Motorola Q and WAS very excited to do business with it. Good sound quality on cell calls and receiving emails has been seamless.

CON's:

This is my 4th phone exchange in less then 30 days. Phone did not charge first time around. Second phone, typing text message and kicked me out. Returned to send text and original text cam back as if I never left my session. Opened up email to check and locked up with white screen, had to pull battery to turn phone back on. Ended a phone call but home screen showed still connected. Third phone, continues to turn off at any given time, Need to pull battery to turn phone back on, Keys are to close together when dialing phone number. Needless to say, I am turning this phone in and never looking back.

Moto Q9c worst invesment I ever made

I loved this phone at first it was great then about 6 months in the horror started. It lagged the time didn't update I couldn't hear anything when making or receiving phone calls. Text messages were out of the question. I could receive email but not send them. Taking the battery out only unfroze it long enough to restart. I was lucky enough to get a disk cleaning program on it and run it, along with a ram free up. The these along with a soft restart fixed my phone for five minutes. So I replaced it through sprint insurance because that was my only option. After a 50$ deductible and 3 month I am having the same problems. I have done research on the web and multiple people have the exact dame problems this phone is a defective piece of crap and I am currently fight with sprint to give me a new phone. Cause this this is a 300$ piece of crap. (to be nice about it )

You finally topped yourself this time with the ultimate piece of #$%^ THis phone sucks. Sure the color is nice and the keypad is improved, but this sucks. It is terribly sluggish (cmon guys) We need speed!!!!!!!

Its too big and bulky!
Its sluggish

Cause this one is not SMART

This phone Makes me ILL!

Jan 6, 2009 by Cosmo123

Yes,when this phone was new it was a great phone. The applications work all well and dandy until about a month of having the phone. It just seems that the phone wanted to stop. The battery life is horrible and the speakers on the back have quit. It tends to stop vibrating at times and you cant have a custom ringtone as your text MSG, because it just continues to play the whole thing no matter if you pick it up or not. Also when I'm typing MSG my phone cannot keep up with my typing ill press send with it not even half way typed. I think that this phone is a piece and should never be used by anyone thats my personal opinion, but others may thing other wise. My opinion i can have it.

Pretty Cool

I like the phone, its a little confusing though. In a thirteen year olds mind this is whats up.

Pros
QWERTY keyboard
Internet Access
Screen Changes due to light
Comes with cools ringtones
I have access to my email
Awesome camera
I can sync it with my computer

Cons
I cant figure out how to turn the volume down
Its pretty big, so it doesn't fit in my pocket well.
The way you have to push the function key to change the way you write is annoying.

I like it because when I'm traveling i have access to email, Internet, word documents, media player and music.
