Had room for improvement

For it's time it was an ok phone, but it definately could have been better. This review from a couple of years using one heavily.

Pros:
• Camera, yay
• easy to get around in
• comfortable for talking use
• easy keypad to use
• alarm clock/calender better than some other phones in the day.
• great price (it was $10 w/ 2 yr contract at activation if I recall)

Cons:
• B/W external screen, aka picture callerid fairly useless
• external camera button functioned when closed, so yeah, you're getting tons of black pocket pictures or locking the keypad (see below)
• overburdensome keypad lock. Wants you to type "123" to unlock it. If it had a code lock, that would be fine for security purposes. Otherwise, fix the pocket-shot glitch and you don't need one. :P
• 3 built in ringtones, one of which is apparently the one they used in the "girls gone wild" commercials (which I found out the hard way :P)
• after a couple of years the battery began wearing down faster than I'd like... but I guess that's par for the course in this industry. ;)

I guess...

I am a user of the Audiovox CDM-8910, and have noticed problems. I have had it for just over a year and trust me it has gotten its days...(I am a talker) I have dropped it a few times and the most that happened was it got a scratch or two...

Pros:
Decent pictures; has a flash and zoom
Easy to understand/use (My Mom is still learning but she's technologically impaired)
Saves lots of numbers per person
Buttons are easy to see and use

Cons:
Bad Reception/Signal (Verizon)
Chunkyish (not too big but definitely not a razor)
Don't always receive missed calls
Disconnects a ton

Overall, I guess if you are looking for a phone it's nice just make sure you don't get it through Verizon Wireless.

horrible phone

Jul 17, 2006 by Alli

this phone is a horrible phone. i do not recommend this phone to anyone. i have had to replace this phone three times.
the first time: the screen kept fuzzing up
the second time:it would not text message at all
third time: it would not take pictures

pros: is okay looking.

cons: is very large. does not work well. camera is horrible. drops calls. does not have many ring tones. ugly green key light. scratches easily. front screen does not have color.

don't make the mistake of buying this phone

I sell it, well...you have to force me to sell it to you.

So as a salesperson for a reputable company I tend to stand by my product when I sell it. This is why I try my hardest to never sell this phone.

The audiovox 8910 has an attractive price-tag for a camera phone. Most places it is free, some places only $15. Let me be perfectly clear on this. There is a reason these phones are so cheap.

According to many of the techs, the audiovox has some faulty operation software that will shut down the phone on random occasions, cause functions to stop working, it even made me program the MIN and the MDN in backwards once, (the MDN became the MIN and the MIN became the MDN.)

The phone is legendary for bad reception in the Midwest region, it's also legendary for being a non-bar worthy phone. (EG, you go to college you go to a bar, you drop, it breaks.)

Sure you can go on the web, and take pictures...just make sure you have an antenna booster and a titanium case when using it.

Flat out, when someone says they want this phone, I will spend hours convincing them to either go down to the LG 3200 or the Nokia 6015 or go up to the Moto V266 for $30 more. If they absolutely want the phone, I tell them to tell me that if it breaks they won't be mad and come take it out on me.

The phone is horrid for the Midwest region. Steer clear of it.

I am from the Cleveland area and my service carrier is Alltel, I love the service just not this phone I got which was free with the plan so I took it. Now after almost 5 months I am buying a motorola..should have known audiovox was crappy but hey it was a FREE phone now I see you get what you pay for. The phone has a camera but the pictures are crappy , the ringtones are just as sorry..Hmm I would not recommend this phone to my worst enemy.

Camera phone with unretrievable photos

May 19, 2006 by eric2945680

ok I love this phone except for a few exceptions that are really ticking me off.
I promise you all that this phone will play full length mp3s because I have seen it with my own eyes, but I would love to meet the genuis who figured out how to do it. I can't get my photos to download and I have been trying to get it to download mp3s for months. I would have given up along time ago except for the fact that I have seen it with my own eyes and I am determined to figure out how to get it to work. It does get so hot that you almost need gloves to talk on it, but I get service with no bars whatsoever. My only problem is that it has features I can't use and I think something should be done about it by Audiovox if they have to pay a team from NASA to make it possible for us download our photos and mp3s. I had a Motorola v220 and had no problem downloading pics. If there is anyone in the world who can tell me how to download my pics and upload mp3s with this phone I will name my first born after you I promise.
Why doesn't someone start a protest group and convince Audiovox that they ruined a great phone by making it impossible to use all of its features and it would be appreciated if the person who designed this thing would shoot themselves in the head so that they are not allowed to ruin another cell phone in such a horrible way. WAS THIS A CRUEL JOKE OR DID SOMEONE DESIGN THIS THING THEIR FIRST DAY ON THE JOB

Worst Phone I've Ever Owned

May 12, 2006 by guitargirl

I got this phone a little over a year ago, dragged in by the fancy camera, mobile web, text messaging...if only I knew then...

This phone has the potential to rock, if only I lived in, say, an area with nothing but digial service. Unfortunatly, I live in rural hicks-ville, where I'm lucky to see one bar on it. I somehow managed to get the crappy version of this phone, the all-digital, which has the WORST reception in my area. I've since switched back to "old faithful", my tri-mode Noika 3285. Basic little phone, but at least it has service, which is all I really care about.
