Audiovox CDM-8615 / Vox 8610
Average Ratings
8610 vs. 8500
I recently "upgraded" from the 8500 to the 8610. While most of the features were improved, color screen, ring-tones, and reception, I was surprised to find that there were a few things missing.
While charging the 8500 the indicator changes from red to green when the battery is fully charged, on the 8610 it always stays red so you don't know when it is done.
Also all of the voice functions are gone. No more voice dialing or voice memo.
There is a "D" indicator which one would think is short for digital. But read the manual closely and that actually means digital or 1x service area. So you could be analog but only being billed at 1x.
Over all I like the phone and it is improved reception over the 8500. But I have not seen the above comments before, so I thought that people might like to know before they pay $120 and then find out.
