MM7400
Had this phone a week can improve on the comments that others have allready mentioned except for one. No one has mentioned how fast this phone boots up. From turned off until ready to use only takes 10 secs. Thats right only ten seconds. Never heard of a phone ever that boots that quick.
great phone...... after 3 exchanges
Igot sprint 3 weeks ago and got the 8200 first.i like the size of it and the features seemed ok. but then my gfgot the 8300 just to one up me and i saw how much fun the video could be, if you know what i mean. so i exchanged my 8200 for a 7400. got home and had NO reception at my house and couldnt stand the speaker quality. so i exchanged it for a vm4500 which i should say is a great looking phone with the worst lag and menu ive ever had. not to mention its discontinued and the guy didnt tell me, so i went in and exchanged it for another 7400 after i told the tech my earlier issue h brought the phone in the back and did something to the software. now my earpiece is much much better and i get reception in my house and wal-mart!!!i love the features on this phone and the rugged build of it. i think the little rat that does stupid things is awsome and i love the changable faceplates, i bought both packs. i think this phone is the best ive ever owned!!
Best phone I've owned yet
This phone is great! The ringers are loud, the speaker is loud, the earpiece sounds great, and the camera is pretty good!
GOOD FOR 4-5 MONTHS THEN DEAD IN THE WATER!
I bought this phone on 8/11/05 as a birthday present to myself, I loved it so much, fun, useful, changable faceplates! I purchased over 30 faceplates for it, jeweled, etc. I loved every feature on this phone. One day while shopping, a sales clerk noticed my phone and said she loved it, but had trouble with it after a couple months, said the speaker stopped working, and when she made/received calls, could not hear anything. Next day, a co-worker said the SAME thing! last month (month#3) I started having issues with the website, thought it was the network, but no one else with Sprint had problems. Then this month the volume thing happened to me! could not hear anything, speaker stopped working, this phone slowly but quickly stopped working altogether! I had to go buy a new phone at lunch that day! Luckily, I had purchased it at Costco, and they refuned my $300.00 in full. But now I have since spoken to other people, and guess what? SAME ISSUES! Also, did you know that Sanyo discontinued this model??? They still have older and newer models available, but not this one, at least thru Sprint anyway....WHY?
THE BEST PHONE I EVER HAD
Now let me just tell you that not only have i had three different cell services but i also have worked for two of them, so I know my way around a phone.
I have never had one single dropped call with this phone, speakin gof dropped, i did that a few times and never hurt it once. the screen is great and the camera has many fun features that you can play around with.
the only downfall is I dont think the batteries last that long, I get about a day and 1/2 out of it and i need a recharge.
GREATEST PHONE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Got this phone when it first came out. This phone does everything that a cell phone should do. I read the previous review from the NY high school boy, I would like to apologize to all who read that, i feel we lost about 5-10 seconds of our lives to read that crap. If you were cryin because little boogers laughed at you because of your phone you have more serious problems than what cell phone you have. And by the way if you deided to get the sanyo mm-8200 over the sanyo 7400 then college is not for you. in college you will have to make rational decisions when you are sober. SANYO MM-7400 is a rugged phone with a really sexy look. I understand this phone is discontinued and Sanyo is coming out with new phones anyone have any word on that. I love sanyo phones, their simple looking but stylish. Sturdy as far a a cell phones goes. i dont expect a cell phone to out last me but give me my money's worth
I dont know what to say
I bought the sanyo mm 7400 and as teenager going to high school in NY city his/ her popularity is important. My dad got me the mm 7400 for my birthday. He bought that particular phone because it was the cheapest phone the store carried. I took it the next day to school. You will never guess what happened and it is hard to believe. They all made fun of me when i pulled it out afterschool to call my dad. I did'nt even until the next day when a guy told me about it in a mean way. He said why do you carry such a ugly phone and started to curse at the phone. I played sick that day so my dad would pick me up and change the phone. The next day i got the I got the mm8200 which was alot more normal looking.
Awesome toy
Pros: The phone is an awesome media center with almost all the goodies you can get. They work great.
Cons: 1. The phone drops about 60% of the calls from all areas of Phoenix. (Sprint)
2. battery dies incredibly fast.
3. needs a lot more memory with the features. It always says to delete things cause memory is full.
4. All works fantastic, except for the main use, as an actual phone.
Avoid this phone and Sprint
Does anyone else have problems with the internet on this phone not backing out? It drives me crazy. [...]
Ed. note: Removed rant about carrier
This phone SUCKS!!! Yet we are talking about Sprint1
This phone was great the first 2 hours i had i. One thing i hate is that its a sprint phone, which never gets service and im go to nextel in a few days. Another thing is that its so big and bulky. The only think i like about it is the speakerphone. I never get service with think phone. My dad has a sanyo and it sucks too so maybe its sanyo but dont buy this phone. Its too much money for nothing! Sprint sucks!
P.S. one good thing is that it can fall out of a moving car and still work fine. The Nextel i860 is what im getting and its the best phone ever!
