Very Impressed

Mar 14, 2008 by Ron96

This phone has a nice feature set, buttons hold up pretty well. The QWERTY keypad is very spacious and intuitive. The OS runs pretty well, doesn't freeze up all of the time, like most WM smartphones I've used. Its got some nice productivity features that would please business users. Also a 3.2MP camera that takes some pretty good stills, though I felt video record was barely average. So models also feature a second camera for Video Calls.
Call quality is decent where I use it, battery life is on the small side thanks to the nice feature set. Bluetooth works great, so does the Wi-Fi, it also supports AT&T's 3G network which is a huge plus. This phone has some speed issues with the OS, but a soft reset will fix that.

Although its not perfect its still a really great phone. The pretty decent processor makes things a nice speedy experiene, though for heavy use the battery life is low. And the 3G is spotty in some areas, rural to be exact.

I'm Happy I Traded My Tilt For A Curve 8310!

I feel like I gave the Tilt a fair try, as I tried 3 different Tilt phones. I did love some of the features of the Tilt. The touch screen was fun and easy to use and it had good organization. In a cell phone I am looking for a good phone first, with good organization and email capabilities. I traded the Tilt for the Curve 8310 because I experienced poor phone signal strength and it just would not download my email (I even have AT&T.net and my mobile carrier is AT&T, go figure!). The Curve downloaded my email on the first try and it downloads it practically in real-time! The Tilt had WiFi and the 8310 does not, but I don't miss it. I can still browse the Internet with Internet Browser quick enough. Another thing I did not like about the Tilt was the auto focus camera. By the time it finished auto focusing, the subject I was trying to photograph had moved, like my dog or my daughter at bat during her softball game! Other than the auto focus issue, it took good pictures.

All-in-all I would not recommend the Tilt.

Dislike this phone

I have been a mobile phone user since the beginning of time...and this phone is really poor.

Pros:
Telenav software is great, don't need a GPS unit other than this. Camera and video are amazing; the best I have ever seen on a phone.

Cons:
Battery life is horrible. Response time on the touch screen is very slow, and if you are one who needs to make conference calls using bridge dial-ins you will find it almost impossible to use. The touch screen for numbers when dialing is also very slow, and many times you end up deleting and re-typing numbers. The slide out keyboard is ok if you plan on typing a novel, but if you simply need to reply to a text message or send a short note it is not very user friendly to have to slide out the keyboard. When you slide out the keyboard and then tilt the screen, you cannot push the "send" button...it is covered by the ower side of the phone. Turning off the phone requires pushing a button on the side of the phone, and if you accidentally put pressure on the other side of the phone (which I do all the time) you launch the PPT function. Yikes! The phone is heavy. There is no good travel case or belt clip case like a blackberry with the magnetic pouch.

Look on eBay shortly for this one...it will be there. I am going back to Blackberry and the ingenious approach to push email!
