THIS PHONE IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY!!!!!

Nov 26, 2004 by 1800hollama

Hello phone-scoop, this information about the sidekick 2 is probably the most important information you will hear, this phone is practically worthless depending on who you are, i suggest u ask tmobile a lot of questions before you purchase this phone such as is my credit good enough to get the sidekick unlimited plan, i say this because this plan offers the regular 600 min free nights and weekends most ppl get and it adds unlimited data and text messages which makes the sidekick 2 as powerful phone as possible for a sidekick, but the horrible thing about this phone and key word is HORRIBLE is if you cant get the sidekick unlimited plan your phone cant do nothing but make calls and take pictures, thats it and yes it has flash but what good is the flash if it is so weak that u cant tell the difference between flash and no flash, and on top of that u get a waiting for activation screen that u cant get passed unless u know how to, if u don't No how to u can email me and ill explain to u, to tell u the truth the thing that makes this phone a real cool phone and made most people get it is its flipping screen and thats why i gave it a 1 instead of a flat out zero, my best advice to you is if you have 300 dollars DO NOT GET THIS PHONE, I REPEAT IF YOU HAVE 300 DOLLARS DO NOT GET THIS Phone cant stress that enough save another hundred dollars and by the tmobile pocket pc which is the most powerful phone for that price, the PROS to this phone is 1) the flip screen 2) the camera(not a powerful one, but a camera is a camera) CONS Everything but the flip screen and the camera. bottom line get this phone if you want to be cool and flashy cuz that flip screen is absolutely crazy and it turns heads, no matter where u go once that screen flips u get all the attention u want and need but as far as the phone go TMOBILE I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure why I decided to purchase the SKII, seeing as I already had a perfectly bada$$ Nokia 3650. Maybe b/c I'd caught wind that it has a full HTML browser, not just the usual WAP browser that they stick in most phones & pass off as 'internet connectivity'. I don't have an internet connection at my home yet(lack of funds @ the moment), and I had literally been going around shaking with glazed eyes, going through e-withdrawals. A techie without the internet is like a day without sunshine, not uncommon, but utterly miserable. So I went to my local T-Mo store & asked to check out a working SKII since I never buy a gadget w/o testing it first. I liked what I saw, and as soon as I had the $$$, I went & got my Sidekick. This is a great communications device. I LOVE the keyboard. Beats the hell out of a normal phone w/t9. The screen worries me though, b/c it feels delicate. I imagine it wouldn't take much to snap it off, so I guard my SKII like it's 'my precious' or something. It's actually a really good phone- nice LOUD earpiece & a great loud speakerphone. I still use my Nokia 3650 b/c it is the ruler of all phones, but my SKII is always by my side as well. I'll break it down to the basics. Pros; keyboard, cool flashing d-pad, intuitive OS, good apps, EXCELLENT speakerphone, nearly everything. Cons; Keyboard peels after some use, screen could be a bit better(higher-res, w/better color), flimsy-feeling screen, lack of menu customizability(no changeable wallpapers here, folks). Also, I have a huge gripe about the ringtones. T-Mo supplies exclusive tones for the SK, in the "download fun" catalog. The normal tones on their website & whatnot won't work w/it. The SKII tones SUCK. They're 90% rap/r&b which I hate, and they're just little 10 second low quality clips of songs. For $1.99 each, that's a hellacious ripoff. All SK owners need to contact T-Mo & gripe about that so we can get some better ringers.

NOT AS GREAT AS THE HYPE!!!!!

The Sidekick II is not that great I does have some good things for example AIM is cool Yahoo messenger is great to and the Email is not bad either..... Now signal is horrible in side MALLS hotels buildings ect... also THE WEB does suck just beacuse most things you would want to run or use on a web site is JAVA script! the sidekick does not offer that WITCH really SUCKS! So you can go on web sites but you can do shiet on them!!!! I have heard that you can get a program for that I havet found it yeath.... You cant Get ringers you have to BUY them all so that sucks!!! DANGER needs to tweak this a bit more I was kind discurage now I am thinking of gething something else.....
