Motorola Razr V3 is a very good phone!

Dec 26, 2005 by Planeguy915

I had this phone for about 3 months and i never drop my calls, it has good reception, and it makes a perfect gift. I have purchased the black one from Cingular Wireless and i got for a very good price. I love this phone, the speakerphone is good, and the phone is loud when it rings and the slimness is really acctractive and the camera is really good. BUYERS IF YOU WANT TO GET THIS PHONE, PLEASE DO SO. IT IS A VERY GREAT STYLISH PHONE.

IF YOU SOMEHOW HATE THE PHONE IT IS YOUR FAULT BECAUSE IF YOU DROPPED THE PHONE ON A WOODEN ITS NOT MOTOROLAS FAULT......IT'S YOUR FAULT. I NEVER DROPPED MY PHONE SINCE I GOT IT BECAUSE I AM GENTLE WITH IT AND IT SLIPS INTO MY POCKET PERFECTLY. THIS IS A GREAT PHONE

v3 solid phone

i am first and foremost a nokia fan, however because of the ongoing issue of not being able to get the 6682 thru cingular i decided to get a " cool" looking phone. bottom line is the razor is a good, sturdy super cool looking phone and i love the big screen. the speaker phone is awesome and because it is so good i'm not going to bother with bluetooth for driving and hands free. the camera is typical vga crap but fun for taking party pics or just quick little shots of funny stuff with kids or pets or whatever. the biggest disadvantage of this phone is that it doesn't have edge technology so checking my email is a bit slow but otherwise the audio is loud and clear and the signal is remarkably strong here and i live in a rural area . i bought this phone primarily because it appealed to me visually but ended up being pleasantly surprised. now that this phone has gone down in price is a good time to get, but the next generation of better razors is right around the corner.

this is a phone people!!! it is great at being a phone. its not a camera or mp3 player. if you were someone that paid $500 for this phone early on, you got ripped off. cingular now sells it for $100 after rebates. that is worth it. it looks good, sounds good, speakerphone is good. no complaints here. if you want an mp3 player, buy an ipod, if you want a camera, buy a camera. if you want a good phone that looks good too, get this(dont pay more than $100 for it)

The One God Among Phones. The true Frodo of heroes. The whiskey in the whiskey and Coke. No side-buttons to accidentally press. Awesome reception. All-of-a-sudden the women are all emailing me :-0

Great Phone

People expect too much, I believe the main problem people have with this phone is that they expect too much....It's a phone. I have had several phones, and this one by far has had the best reception.

Pros: Large display, great reception, even in Kentucky, loud speaker, sleek design and great download-able features.

Cons: No video recorder (but I was aware of that when I purchased the phone) Still haven't figured out how to store more than one number to each phone book entry.

When the phone first came out it was priced ridiculously so I waited hoping it would go down, and by the summertime, the price had dropped like $300 dollars. I paid $150 for mine. Over all I believe it was a great investment. And I've been through about 5 phones including samsung, nokia (great phones also), LG and other motorolas.

Pretty Shabby

Pros: The size, the looks, the keypad, and the inner screen size.

Cons: Poor sound quality. Worthless phonebook functionality. Clumsy software, dim outer screen, weak vibrating alert.

I received the Razor V3 and finally decided to return it before the two week period ended. After owning three great Nokia phones, I decided to replace my beaten up two year old 6610 with the slick looking Razor.

The Razor is beautiful and it eliminates the pocket VPB (visible phone bulge.) But the problem started with transferring numbers into the phonebook. Rather than one name with multiple numbers, the Razor only accepts one phone number entry per name. So if John Smith has five different numbers, you'll see John Smith listed five times as you scroll through the names. I ended up with over two hundred listings, most being redundant names, making it impossible to quickly find anything. Not acceptable in what’s supposed to be a hi-end phone.

Aside from the frustration of operating this phone easily, the primary problem was the sound quality. Friends and colleagues complained of static and that my voice sounded muffled. I need a mobile phone with the audio quality of a landline. The Razor was unable to do this and others can. So it’s gone.

a piece of crap

both internal and external screen are very hard to see outdoors. the letters on the keypad are also very hard to see. require too may steps to create and send send text messages. very poor reception. i wasted a lot of money on this one.

JUST LOOKS DON'T BE FOOLED !

i had purchased a v3 razor and i have to say that i was really really disappointed with this phone i thought it would be much more than it was first of all the camera was terrible, no video recording, no edge tech and less features on the INTERNET than the moto v551 which has all the features that i just mentioned. i feel that with a price tag that high as what i paid for it 449.00 that this phone should have all those features and more. i returned my v3 and exchanged for moto v551 which i feel is a much better phone with a much lower price tag. if you are a person into phones with just good looks then the v3 would be a good phone for you but if you are like me a person that likes a phone with awesome features and nice looks well i would fully recommend the moto v551.

Moto pulls one off

When I read the first review that is posted here I was mad. How dare they bash my object of desire?!

Truth is... that reviewer was right on. The phone is a good phone. I have had mine for a week and it's solid. But, it's not worth $1k, $700 or even $300.

It's a cool phone with cool features but for the price it should be so much more! The styling is half a$$. The keypad is nifty but it glows turquoise blue. Sort of chicky if you ask me. Why not infuse some awesome color palate into this slim, sleek phone? Why not make the think feel a bit more solid like it's not going to fall apart when you dial?

Moto did an overall nice job with this phone but in my opinion as a marketer and phone junkie they f'd up the marketing. They have so much ground to get back a reputation and this phone could have been a great start. I hope people don't remember this one for the astronomical starting price and sort of good quality and uniqueness of it.

The phone works well, is slim, has bluetooth, quad band, etc. Just not the killer kick butt phone one would expect from the hype, the price and from a company that is losing market share and it's reputation. Why don't we see some of the Japanese styled phones hit the USA? Crap! They reverse engineer everything.... take some design cues and an engineer or two from the Japanese. Those guys make sweet mobiles.

Get it together Moto or all of your jobs will be in China.

Dont waste you money on this phone.

[...] I work in a mobile phone retailer.I have had 15 of these phones returned. These are the following compliants i have recieved.

-Speaker phone crackles and is almost ununderstandable.

-Ringtones are not only crap but are too soft.

-Battery life is very poor.

-The keypad is not made well and tends to break.

-features that may seem good realy have problems.

The one thing aboutthis phone is that it looks cool. This device is a waste of 500 dollars. If your purchase this phone prepare to return it.

Ed. note: Removed insulting language
