Elegant and Powerful
I have been a long time Palm user due to the fact that they had the best PIM available. (I have also carried the Curve, Storm, Saga, Omnia, Pearl and numerous others because I work in tech.) I continue to believe Palm offers the best solution on the market.
Palm leveraged its amazingly user friendly PIM and cobined it with its Synergy unification feature to make for an incredible device. With all of your contacts, calendars, and tasks from your Exchange, Social Networks, and up to 7 other email accounts unified into one place, it combines ease of use and productivity in one of the sleekest and sexiest devices on the market today.
After 10 years in the industry, I can safely say that webOS is the perfect choice for someone that is new to smartphones. You will find the software to be very intuitive and highly responsive. The linux base of webOS and the icons on the menu make it virtually impossible to make a mistake with the Pre Plus regardless of how technologically challenged a user might be.
Cons:
Keyboard is tiny. A keyboard closer in size to its older treo brothers would be ideal.
Battery life leaves a little to be desired. 5.5 hours is nice but for an obviously professional phone 8 hours would be ideal.
Applications are somewhat limited. If you are app hungry, you may be a little disappointed with the selection.
Pros:
Incredible UI. It's very crisp and clear, and while not quite high def, you wont be disappointed.
Synergy links all of your email and social networking contacts in one place for easy access.
PIM. Palm's Personal Information Management remains the best in the industry.
Flawless
This is tied for best phone ever with the iphone,Omnia II,Motorola Droid,Nexus One,and probably with the soon to be Microsoft Phone. It handles runs and handles media better than any other phone I've tested. The keyboard is super spacious and comfortable.The display is vivid,too.Better than the iphone's.It has the best OS ever. It also sports the best web browser on any mobile device I've ever seen. It also runs on Verizon's great network.I's ultra speedy and smooth and can handle multi-tasking better than anything I've seen. It runs apps better than the iphone,too. I think of the Pre Plus as the iphone that no on has ever seen.It's better than the iphone in every way,except for screen size. I can't wait for the Microsoft phone to come out either,it might be even better than the Pre.
Its Not Even Close-Best Phone For Verizon
I know all of the Verizon phones very well.
Its important to note that the quality of Verizons Pre blows the Sprint Pre away. Don't compare the two handsets as they feel completely different and with 1.4 running the Verizon version is a beast.You'll definitely want to invest in the Seido battery though(the 1350).It only gives you a little extra life but you will need because the stock battery is weak if you're a heavy user.
I'm familiar with the Iphone in its jailbroken form. As far as cool gadgets/toys go the Pre gives the Iphone a run for its money. As a phone its not even a contest, the Pre is far superior mainly due to the Verizon service. Let me elaborate on the "service" comment because people tend not to explain it well. ATT service is simply unreliable. A connection to a call can be knocked offline very easily and the call quality is often choppy. That's all you need to know.If you haven't used both in NY/NJ borrow someones Iphone and try to make a call in NYC. Good luck. Paying your Verizon bill will never feel so good.
The Pre interface is controlled by a very cool knight rider like gesture pad at the base of the phone. A swipe back minimizes a window, a swipe down on the gesture pad enlarges a window, a swipe up on the screen itself closes an application. Despite what you may read in other posts, these movements are natural and intuitive. At 16 gigs you'll have ample room for movies and music. The media player doesn't seem to play .avi files which is annoying.The browser is sweet, the camera takes awesome pictures and its fast. Don't bother with 5 or 8 megapixel phones because most of them lag when firing off a picture. So whats the point? And there's a feature where you can hold down the spacebar with the camera app opened and it will rapid fire pics. Plus 1.4 now has video capability and the quality is very good. No zoom in either one though. And that's why you bought your Ashton Kutcher camera. All in all the phone is awesome. Buy it.
Bye Bye Motorola Droid hello Pre Plus
Lets see where should I start.
Pros
1st Eye Candy. The Pre Plus has sexy curves and a form factor that reminds me of a exotic stones off the shores off a beach in the West Indies. Bye far I think is safe to say the Pre only falls second to the iPhone in the looks department.
2nd Webos. I love how Webos manages multitasking, its card system easy and fun.
The Notification panel postion at the bottom of the screen make very easy to view your updates, when done just swipe right and its out your way.
3rd Size. The size naturally fits the contour of my hand for comfortable operation.
4th Its sync with itunes. This is a bit weird but itunes recognize my Pre Plus and a ipod
5th Camera is super fast. No stall

1st Speed. The Palm Pre is a Infinit G35 While the Palm Pre a Porsche 911
2nd Keyboard. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 6. I button new to be a bit firmer and provide a little more action and feedback.
3rd. The Mp3 player sucks

The Mobile Hotspot costs an extra $40 and only gives you 5GB. It should be part of the data planSeems like a ripoff
The keyboard isn't integrated enough into the phone and feels like it was an afterthought. I would've preferred a virtual keyboard and a longer phone. It also feels very cheap as though it may break at any moment
The battery back is extremely hard to get off. You feel as though you may break it.
It needs more apps. I know it's new but the app store sucks
Overall it is a good phone but I may be going back to a Blackberry
The phone I wanted to Love
I am devoted iPhone fan that had to leave AT&T as I was tired of dropped calls.
First of all I loved the look and feel of the Palm Pre Plus from verizon. WebOS is a great OS, but it is slow on the Pre. On average I have to wait 4 seconds for it to launch each app. My iPhone loads an app in a 1 second or less.
To me there was no getting around that.
Phone is also made of cheap plastic. I have dropped my iPhone a million times, and yes it scratches a tad. I dropped my pre once from only a foot or two off the floor and it cracked.
The amount of or lack of apps on WebOS is not a big deal. Apple may have more, but you don't need more. WebOS has all the ones you need.
Web OS on the Pre, is the best OS I have used for multi tasking for sure. The startup screen when you hit the power button is fantastic. You see all your updates in one place, which the iPhone does not do.
Battery life isn't just poor, it stinks. I had to cary around spare batteries in a plastic bag to get through the day.
Also yes you can swap them, but you have to open up the entire back to do so, which can't be good for the long term. I also bought the extra batteries, and even with the extra ones, they still won't last as much as my iPhone did. The really large one won't work with their new cool charger which to me was a big let down.
All I can say is this was the Phone I wanted to love, but can't. I have since bought a Droid, which I love.

I would have loved this phone if it weren't so glitchy... Do not know the software version.
Pros:
Awesome features! I love that it has the mobile hotspot. Very convenient when a router is down or when you're in a house that hasn't upgraded from dial up but you need to get on the internet on a laptop.
The browser is really not bad. Pretty consistent. Decent app store, has basic conveniences if you're not too picky.
I am a fan of the mp3. And the flash on the camera.
Overall you can tell they tried to make a nice smart phone that wasn't technological overload.
Cons:
I started having problems immediately. The touch screen lags.
Lets say you call someone and another person calls you, so you have to answer and say "I will call you back," and you try to end that call... and your only option is to end all of the calls. Obnoxious.
My phone also completely stopped letting me add and save contacts by the time I had it for about six months. So lots of people get asked, "who is this?". Also, it just doesn't like texting or calling specific contacts in my list. I have no way of telling them that either, until I see them at the event that I was supposed to invite them to but had to have someone else invite them for me.
I really wish I could turn off my phone when I charge it.
It also, once it is past midnight, does not save the times of text messages from the previous day and before. And it doesn't save any information on photos you took; you can't find out the date or time something was taken.
I have never and will never recommend this phone. As soon as I couldn't contact specific people or save phone numbers, I had it. Sadly, I have only had it for about a year at this point, so I still have a while before I can upgrade to another phone that hopefully isn't a sign of false hope for technology. Super disappointed :/

Phone has cool software, but not real durable. If your careful with your phone, its a great device... just don't drop it.

I like it but there's a lot that bugs me
Pros
- Touch interface is good although the fact that Centro had "arrow" keys made it much better.
- Web browser is pretty good. I have some web sites that use frames which do not work.
- Begin typing anywhere and it searches everywhere for what you're typing and brings up the option to click on Google search, Wikipedia, etc. That's far superior to Android (don't know about iPHone.)
Cons
- Cut/paste method is somewhat cumbersome. Either go to menu to select it (some apps don't allow it in certain areas), or press the control area of the screen while pressing the x or v key. Quite often you end up erasing the selection and replacing it with x or v. I later mastered cut/paste.
- Text select method is cumbersome
- Palm Centro would silence ringtone when you touched anywhere on screen during an incoming call. That was very handy if you forgot to turn off ringtone.
- SMS Messaging doesn't give date and time of message like centro did. Found patch to add date/time
- SMS Messaging doesn't easily allow you to send sms messages to email addresses like centro did. Each time you want to send an sms message to an email address you have to 1 exit the current message thread (even if it is the person you are messaging) 2. Create a new message. 3. Completely type in the email address of the person you want to send to. You cannot select the address from the address book. Centro worked much better.
- No categories for memos
