Motorola RAZR V3m
Average Ratings
good
i have had the motorola razr v3m for about 4 months. it comes in a lot of colors. it's sleek and small, which i love! overall, it's a good phone...
pros:
- larger than normal screen
- decent camera
- clear picture
- nice display
- alarm clock, calculator, date book, notes (all the basic features that you love)
- good sound quality
- nice keypad! the button's aren't too small, and becomes easy to text :)
cons:
- battery power isn't too great! however, it really depends on how often you use your phone. if you text & talk on the phone a real lot, it would become an issue for you probably.
- it's freezes ... a lot! it could be b/c you have a lot of memory saved up too though. i don't know.
- if you drop your phone, most likely it will get scratched. just be careful!
i have had to return my razr a couple of times, but it wasn't for anything too drastic. i just got a new phone from verizon, but i still liked my razr. anyway, hope i helped for any of those looking to purchase it! :)
Most Aggravating Phone Ever Created
Don't even waste your time or money on this piece of junk.
I had it for 4 days and couldn't stand it any longer. The battery life is awful...I would barely use it for a period of 7 hours, and already I had one bar left, even after charging it over night. It was ALWAYS lagging, and froze a lot. It took at least a minute for a photo to expand on the phone. Also, very flimsy. Just because it looks "cool" and "trendy," doesn't mean it will work as good as it looks.
The only thing good about this phone was the reception (thank you Sprint).
I traded it in and got myself an LG Musiq, now that is a GREAT phone. LG and Samsung have never let me down. Sayonara Motorola!
VERY UNHAPPY!
My husband and I are very disappointed with this phone. The only thing that we like about it is that is very sleek and fits just about any where. Don't even get me started on the battery life. It doesn't have one. It didn't come with a real speak phone either. LOL If, we would have know all of this before we bought the phones. WE NEVER WOULD HAVE PURCHASED!!!Motorola really needs to recall these phones and give people their money back. "We were robbed" I also think that Sprint needs to extend their 30 days exchange policy. It wasn't till after the 30 days that all the issues that we have had started to happen. My husband and I will be keeping our eyes open for phones in which to replace the V3m Razor.
A VERY Happy Razr Customer
I've been a mobile phone user for more than a decade and during that time, I've had phones from companies like: Nokia, LG, and now Motorola.
I must say that the Motorola Razr V3m is by far my favorite to date. Coming off a very disappointing experience with a Nokia 6255i(that has THANKFULLY and justifiably been discontinued) I upgraded to the Razr V3m, and I've been smiling ever since.
The Razr's sleek design and sturdy hinge is a blessing. And having developed habits with my previous phone, such as what button to push for Contacts, I love the customization available in the Razr's user interface. As a result, I've found myself using this phone's many other features, such as the alarm, the calendar for appointments, and the calculator more often than I ever did in the past.
I have a digital camera, so the Razr's camera was not a must for me, although it is ok to have just in case, and certainly easy to use to get pics to assign to contacts for personalized photo caller ID.
I have two computers, including a laptop with wireless capabilities, which means I don't use my phone to Web surf, e-mail, IM, etc. So I can't really say how the Razr performs in that regard, although I have used it for texting a couple of times without issue, and I did have Easyedge online shopping for a brief period, and that worked ok.
The Bluetooth-compatibility was a selling point for me, because I prefer hands-free calling, and I've been very pleased with it. Also, the reception I get with the Razr via my US Cellular provider is as good, if not better, than my previous phone (with the same provider) even though the Razr has no extendable antennae and I frequent more rural areas.
So overall, for a cell phone with bells and whistles, this one meets all my needs and then some.
stripped version of e815
CONS:
No flash for camera
Camera is terrible
Options are more limited compared with e815 (using same functions)
For Verizon Wireless customers:
Has an annoying animated intro with sound that can only be disabled by hacking into the phone and replacing it.. (PRO: everyone will know you have verizon and look at you weirdly)
Menu access is difficult due to the circular button in the middle.
bottom line: Limited stripped down phone only good for its slim design.
PROs:
Slim sleek design.
Why the low ratings???
I am literally astonished at the low user review of this phone. I was very leary at first because of the low user review and ended up getting Verizon's middle Samsung U-series phone. At first it was great, but I went through 2 of them in a week because they kept locking up. As apprehensive as I was about the Razr, I took a leap of faith in Motorola... and I have been VERY happy with my choice.
Pros:
- Reception
- Buttons on the top of the flip so my fingers don't change stuff while I have the phone up to my ear.
- Speaker volume
- Vibrate is not too loud like my old LG
Cons:
- The interface is somewhat slow, but I am not in need of an extra .5 second to open up messages or some other app.
All in all, this has been a great phone and I love it.
Adios,
Ben
This is a GREAT Phone!
This is a great phone. I bought this one used and have had it for about a year.
I drop my phone alot & this one keeps working. The only think that quit working after dropping many times, was the display on the front. Everything else keeps working. One day I had a bad day, I sent this phone through the air as far as I could throw it (approx 60 feet) it landed on the pavement, the battery & battery cover came off. I thought I really screwed up, but when I put the battery & cover back on, it worked GREAT & still does now, 70 days later!
I also soaked the phone at a water park by accident (my waterproof case wasn't waterproof) It didn't work at first, but after I dried it out, It worked just fine.
Pros: GREAT BATTERY LIFE, Pretty Tough, Easy to use. Quite THIN!
Cons: The display is hard to see in direct sunlight. Camera quality is not so great.
My contract is up for renewal & I'm thinking about getting a new one, with insurance this time.
Not much more to ask for on a phone...
This phone can do just about anything. I own this phone through the US Cellular Network and haven't had a problem with their software setup or signal strength. The navigation is easy and making the phone match your taste isn't awfully difficult to accomplish. Texting is good although it's not QWERT keys like a PDA.
YOU MUST GET Motorola Phone Tools around $40 in order to make this phone EXCEED your expectations. Motorola Phone Tools allows you to add contacts, photos (for Caller ID), video, MP3's for play or ring tones & calendar options.
PROS:
miniSD expandable (I currently have a 1GB)
Bluetooth
Extras such as: Ringer ID customizable
Ringer ID Picture
Navigation
Customizable
Speaker Phone Loud
5 Alarms
Airplane Mode
USB PCsync
CONS:
VERY Fragile
DO NOT GET WET
battery life issues (could be cause of the bluetooth function)
Deffinatly an Upgrade
I got this phone with U.S. Cellular after my second V3c broke. I've had it for less than a day, but its much better than the V3c. I got a 1 gig card for it and the card works great. It took time to get it fully in, but i got it eventually. I like having the ability to switch between the card and the phone memory, and not have them crammed together.
PROS:
-Very nice design and color (silver and black)
-Micro SD card slot
-Partial metal casing.
-Faster UI than the V3c
-USB connect without Moto Phone Tools or Bitpim
CONS:
-It's still a RAZR, always will be, so its still fragile
-Flat black shows scrapes easier
-Memory card hard to get in and out without fear of breaking it.
-Screens bad it bright light
-No flash
Overall, I have been pleased with this phone. But I am looking forward to the ROKR Z6m coming soon.
The Razr Is Awesome
This is an awesome phone. I've had perfect reception, and the graphics and ring-tones are pretty cool. The red razr overall is a good phone. The only problem i have had is that the phone freezes and you have to take the battery out. And sometimes the keypad light doesn't come on.
Pros: Awesome camera
Perfect Reception
Cool Features
Cool Red Sleek Design
Cons: Key Pads
Freezes Up
