Verizon Wireless said on Thursday it has begun selling the Samsung SCH-N300 phone, which can identify a person's calling location to an emergency call center. The feature works in areas where both the Verizon network and the local 911 system have been upgraded for E-911 Phase II service. Verizon expects coast-to-coast network upgrades to be completed by the second quarter of 2003. Sprint PCS began selling a similar Samsung phone in October.
