Siemens is reportedly close to a deal to swap its mobile handsets unit for Motorola's mobile networks business, a deal analysts say would benefit both. Siemens has previously stated that it is interested in expanding to offer CDMA network equipment, a market where Motorola is currently the third-largest player. In February, a Motorola executive said the firm was looking to acquire a rival in handsets to help boost its market share to 25 percent.
