VoiceStream Wireless has become the third US carrier this year to let subscribers send text messages to cell phones supported by rival companies, sources said Monday. The first was AT&T Wireless, which announced the service late January. Cingular Wireless offers the service already in some regions, and will launch it nationwide in March. VoiceStream's service is operating nationwide, but has yet to be formally announced.
