Verizon Wireless has made its Android data widget available once again via the Google Play Store. The widget was discontinued before the debut of Verizon's new Shared Everything plans, which launched June 28. The new widget brings with it compatibility with the Shared Everything plans, but it no longer automatically refreshes in the background. Instead, the Android data widget must be manually tapped to refresh the amount of data used at any given point in a subscriber's cycle. The widget is free to download and use.

I Guess this Explains...

why the one on my Blackberry hasn't been working. I've also note in the last couple of days that my battery has been draining precipitously, so the widget resident on my phone has probably been calling home continuously since they shut it down.

I used to love Verizon. Now, they're just another necessary evil.
