The ROKRs Finally Rock Out

At MOTONOW in Chicago, Motorola has previewed the long-awaited ROKR. Like the RAZR or SLVR, the ROKR will be a family of music oriented phones. The first and flagship ROKR (pictured here) appears to be a 3G phone running Motorola's new next-generation OS.
Although little else was said about the ROKR, Ron Garriques did reveal some more information about other four letr models we've seen before. The current GSM RAZR will soon be available in additional colors such as Maria Sharapova's pink edition. It will be followed up by an updated model in Q4 with a 1.3 MP camera, memory card slot and music player. The CDMA RAZR has just hit carrier labs for testing and should be available in time for the holidays. The 3 SLVR models that have been announced should also be available in Q4. Surprisingly, Garriques also said the PEBL would be out in Q3 and the chrome pewter color will be joined by a rubberised matte black and red colors. Several other potential colors were previewed as well.
