Facebook Messenger for Android Updated to Match iPhone
Apr 30, 2014, 8:24 AM by Eric M. Zeman

Facebook has updated the Android version of its Messenger application with the same new features given to the iPhone version earlier this week. Facebook Messenger for Android is now able to send videos directly from the camera roll, and will instantly playback videos received in conversation threads. The app makes it easier to send photos directly from a conversation, and also adds shortcuts to stickers, improved search, and other performance improvements. Facebook will soon remove messaging functionality from the Facebook Mobile app in favor of the stand-alone Facebook Messenger application. Facebook Messenger 5.0 is free to download from the Google Play Store.
