Google Voice Now Supports MMS on Select Networks

Google has enabled MMS within Google Voice on more than 100 networks in North America, including AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the U.S. Google Voice was previously limited to sending and receiving only SMS messages. For the moment, Verizon has not enabled MMS via Google Voice, and Google didn't say whether or not it intends to. Some of Google Voice's features have recently been ported to Google's Hangouts app/service, such as the ability to make voice calls.

WTF Verizon/FCC?

Forget reasonable, how is it even legal that Verizon can arbitrarily have any say in this??

It's just data on their network which we already pay for.

When will providers get it through their think skulls (not to mention, profits...) that they are "dumb" pipes for our data?

*resigned facepalm*
It's their network, they can allow or not allow what they want and there should be no law that requires companies from offering or not offering whatever they want (public/national security concerns aside).
