Facebook's 'Photo Magic' to Scan Photos for Friends

Facebook is testing a new feature that it says will make it easier to share photos with friends. Photo Magic will scan users' camera roll using face-recognition software. When it finds people it associates with other Facebook accounts, the app will suggest the photo be shared with that person via Facebook Messenger. Facebook believes people will be more apt to share photos if it does some of the leg work in the background. "It's still way too difficult to share photos with friends, and receive all the ones you're in," said Facebook's David Marcus. People can opt out of being recognized if they so choose. Facebook is trialling Photo Magic in Australia and says it hopes to release the feature in the U.S. soon.
