Nokia 6133 Discovered On T-Mobile Site
Sep 11, 2006, 12:18 AM by (staff)
The FCC last week approved a hearing aid compatible (HAC) version of the Nokia 6126, and along with it a variant with a different keypad and an FM radio called the 6133. The 6133 has been listed as a carrier-dependent variant, and it was suspected that this would be for T-Mobile. Two photos that match the FCC photos for the 6133 have both been found on T-Mobile's site and each has a file name with 6133 in the title, confirming those suspicions. The 6133 is a quad-band GSM/EDGE phone with a QVGA screen, 1.3 Megapixel camera, Micro SD slot, Bluetooth and an FM radio. Although pictures are available, the phone is not listed on the site yet. A price and release date are not available.

Nokia 6133 Online Demo
After looking at the internal menu structure of the phone, I found it really similar to the basic phone 6101 with the addition of the 1.3 MP and the music player.
Nokia's just jazzed it up a little to attract new customers.
I still don't know why I would go for this phone.

Why T-Mobile Clearance???
I posted this in the main thread related to the 6126/6133 but thought I would pose the question here as well...
Does T-Mobile have less stringent testing for new phones than Cingular?
It appears from all the chatter that Cingular tested the 6126 many times and sent it back to Nokia constantly to fix something or other and when it appeared Nokia could not meet whatever standard they had Cingular canceled the phone.
Seeing that T-Mobile is going to release this phone I'm wondering if they overlooked technical issues this phone may have or if Cingular was just being anal retentive.
