Apple Now Selling iPhones Sans Contract

Apple is now allowing people to buy the iPhone for full price with out proof of an AT&T contract. The devices are still locked to the AT&T network, but can be purchased outright for $499 (3G), $599, or $699 (3GS). Users won't be required to extend an existing contract if purchasing the iPhone at the full retail price.
