Apple Locks Google, AdMob Out of iPhone Advertising
Jun 9, 2010, 2:15 PM by Philip Berne
The recent change from iPhone OS to iOS4 brought more than a name change. The new developer's agreement accompanying iOS4 seems to lock out any advertising company that is directly affiliated with a mobile phone or phone OS maker. Google's recently acquired AdMob company has responded to the developments, which would seem to preclude app developers from using AdMob ads in their apps. Reuters reports that AdMob founder Omar Hamoui is calling the new terms "artificial barriers to competition," saying they will "hurt users and developers and, in the long run, stall technological progress." AdMob says that the iPhone platform accounts for one-third of the ads it serves to mobile devices.

Apple isn't screwing Google, Google got screwed trying to screw Apple over...
Google's interest was to have a say in the iPhone ecosystem. Apple isn't that stupid. Apple isn't screwing over Google, they just stopped Google from trying to screw Apple over.
2) Apple isn't blocking 3rd party advertisers - they aren't mandating people use iAds.
3) Cry me a river - Google seems to be fine with double standards as long as they benefit Google. It's fine for Google to screw over a platform partner as it's Google being "open." Ask Yahoo! how that went.
4) Apple knows Google's liabilities lie in advertising, the same way Appl...

1) Google entered the mobile OS business with the intent to compete with Apple. They also knowingly purchased a network used to deliver ads to the iPhone.

Google learns what a "conflict of interest" is.
Apple sees it as a conflict of interest for you to be related to the monetization for Apple's developers.
Nice of Apple to officially forbid a competitor to pay them to advertise. ;)
That says it all !
Of course, iPhone users laugh at your pathetic Droid and what you call "apps" 🤣
