Qik Releases Fixed EVO 4G Video Chat App

Qik today offered an update to its video chatting application for the HTC EVO 4G, which is available from Sprint. Version 3.54 has improved connectivity, better performance in low-quality networks, removes the SMS verification system, and no longer automatically archives video chats in user accounts. Qik says archiving may return in a future version of the application. The application is a free download. Qik had pulled the application soon after the EVO 4G went on sale due to several problems experienced by end users.

Wouldn't it be easier...

Wouldn't it be easier if someone used Apples open sourced FaceTime to create easy (for the end user) video conferencing without all the additional drama brought on by Qik and Skype video conferencing?
to not use wi-fi only 3G or 4G data
no not really, considering Skype is used by millions worldwide already for easy video chat.

Facetime is a new api used only by apple.

I'm sure that facetime will be integrated, but to develop for it exclusively would be ignoring the millions of ...
