Wireless Power Consortium Defines Qi Standard

The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) recently finalized the specifications for the Qi low power charging standard. The now-final standard defines how to deliver 5 watts of power wirelessly to appropriately equipped device. The WPC has published the documents that device makers will need to design, build and test wireless power equipment using the Qi standard. The WPC also said that it has begun work on the medium power wireless charging standard. The medium power standard will deliver 120 watts of power wirelessly. The WPC didn't say when it expects to finalized the medium power standard.
