Google Maps for the Android platform has been updated to version 4.5.1. The new version offers a single new feature: It adds the current weather conditions to the screen when Google Maps is used as a live wallpaper. The update is free.

Downloaded It, Tried It...

Disabled it. It is a nice feature for Non- HTC devices. But HTC already makes use of weather animation when awaking the phone. Google Maps is already a live wallpaper. I also found the screen to appear darker on My Evo once enabled. Maybe its part of the weather relation at that point. However, I doubt it. It's been dark and rainy here all day. I will give it another try when it clears up.

I guess if you want both programs running simultaneously 24/7 on your home screen, it is a nice choice.
