Verizon's 'Home Phone Connect' Expands Nationwide
Feb 18, 2011, 8:55 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Verizon Wireless has made its Home Phone Connect program available to all customers across the United States. Home Phone Connect uses Verizon's cellular network to connect landline calls. The service requires that customers install a base station in their home. The base station connects to Verizon's cellular network, but rings calls on the premises' landline. Home Phone Connect acts similar to family plans, and customers can add the line for $10 per month with shared minutes, or $20 per month for unlimited minutes. Customers of the service can port their landline number if they wish. Verizon initially trialled the service in New York and Connecticut.
