Updated: corrected screen size
Shin Jong-kyun, president of Samsung's mobile business, was recently quoted saying "We expect to release the Galaxy S2 in the U.S. market sometime in August." The phone features a huge, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and dual-core processor.

A nice phone for the end of 2010
The screen may be physically large and very nice, and the phone is dual-core, but the screen resolution is now approaching obsolescence. qHD displays are on the high-end phones now, and 720p displays will be out by the end of this year, making this one especially low-res by comparison. My wife has an iphone 4 that was able to draw at least 3 bars of EDGE service and could even play youtube videos while my galaxy S was struggling to get one bar of service and wouldn't even update my facebook or twitter apps. (which leads to a question, is it possible to turn off 3g on the galaxy s using stock software?) I love the phone, and was really looking forward to the dual ...

I've been reading up on some of the reviews of the phone in Europe and I'm seeing almost nothing but positive things. I'm kinda stoked, though I'm going to reserve judgement until I see what the iPhone 5 is like. Likely I'll go with one of those.
