Here is an initial first look of the BlackBerry 9850 Torch. It is a classy and stylish touch phone that boasts a lot of features in an attractive casing. The device feels great in the hand, and has a dazzling display.

RIM Dinged with Bluetooth-Related Patent Suit

Wi-LAN has filed a lawsuit against Research In Motion alleging that the BlackBerry maker is infringing on a single patent related to Bluetooth technology. Wi-LAN says a number of RIM's smartphones, such as the Bold, Pearl, Storm, and Torch, infringe on the patent.

NXP Sues RIM Over Patents, Wants Triple Damages

Research In Motion was hit with a lawsuit by NXP, which alleges that RIM's BlackBerry Torch, Curve, and Bold smartphones infringe on six of its patents. NXP wants sales of the devices halted, and compensatory and triple damages.

A company called Graphics Properties Holdings recently filed a lawsuit against Apple, HTC, LG, RIM, Samsung, and Sony, alleging that the companies' products violate its intellectual property. Specifically, the lawsuit covers a patent pertaining to how mobile devices process data and text into pixels on a display.

Verizon Updates BlackBerry 9930 Bold, 9850 Torch

Verizon Wireless has made operating system updates available to both the Research In Motion BlackBerry 9930 Bold and 9850 Torch. Both are being updated to OS version 7.0.0.374 and include extensive change logs.

Designed to save weight. Storm 1 and Storm 2 were as heavy as bricks. People complained they were way too heavy

U.S. Cellular FINALLY got a cool new smartphone!!!!

RIM had made a huge advancement with the 9850 and 9900. They have nice cameras, huge displays, and fast processors. Also I am VERY excited that they offered the 9850 to U.S. Cellular!!!! Another satisfied Blackberry user. Keep it up RIM!!!!

RIM making a comeback.

This is an amazing Blackberry! I was chosen to do some testing / benchmarking for it, and as hard as it is for most phones to do this, it impressed me. Right out of the box you can tell this phone is a MASSIVE improvement over previous models.

Also...USCC carries it as well...I'm pretty sure they launched it first though I may be wrong.
