What happends if the USB port is damaged?

I love this phone but worry since the battery is not removable. My origanal Evo 4G USB port was damaged (due to normal use) but this type of deffect is not covered bye warranty & or store repairs bye Sprint. With the origanal EVO was at least able to purchase an external battery Charger but with this phone will not be possible.
Use the DropBox offer to keep your pics backed up, make sure your contacts are synced with Google or atleast backed up to a memory card. The better prepared for something bad happening the better off you'll be. Get TEP as well if you don't already h...

two different model numbers?

I'm in the midst of looking for a Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE to use with Ting. Ting's whitelist* indicates the two following models are compatible:

-EVO 4G LTE Black (APX325CKT),
-EVO 4G LTE White (APX325CWH)

But... nearly every pre-owned Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE I've found (so far) identifies the phone as model #PJ75100.

Is it possible that Sprint's version of the Evo 4G LTE has two model numbers? Or maybe the APX325 whitelist numbers listed are a different type of identifier?

Appreciate any advice or referral to help me clarify this matter before i plunk down cash on an actual phone.

thanks,
~dawn

3G Voice + Data At The Same Time

I'm just curious how I can browse the web while I'm on a 3G call with no 4G or wifi? What is different about this phone that allows me to do that?
I read this and was like no it does not! So I tried it and WOW it does work! Maybe has to do with HD voice and takes up less space so can use 3G data and voice? Or upgrading towers to LTE is making the 3G side better as well? GSM has been able to ...

Battery Life

Anybody know how the battery life on this phone compares to the Evo 4G?
-Thanks
I just gone mine this past Monday night but I get a solid day's charge so far. I usually leave my house at 7 and get home at 6 with around 20% charge left.

CONFLICTED... EVO LTE Now or iPhone 5 Later?

I LOVE my EVO and the EVO LTE looks like a huge upgrade to my current device. For a phone that has hit its 2nd birthday since its release it is STILL a relevant phone spec wise and has stood up to my abuse over the past 24 months.

I have been eligible for an upgrade for quite a while now and my EVO is finally starting to show its age. The EVO LTE is available NOW but the leaked specs on a pending iPhone 5 or New iPhone whatever it will be marketed as look really tempting.

There are some drawbacks to Android that make me grumble but iOS is so incredibly proprietary locked down.

Ever since one of my daughters friends stole my iPod out of my truck I have dragged my feet on replacing it as my EVO with Pandora has done me well for my...

Hi there!

I too had an Evo for 18 months and just upgrade to my Evo 4G LTE this past Monday night. I also have an Samsung Galaxy S 4G on Verizon from work. I have to say that HTC has done a great job with ICS and I enjoy my Evo 4G more than the Gal...

this will surely be a hit.

The "one" major hardware advantage???

You mention "The one major hardware advantage the EVO has over other One X variants is the dedicated camera button." However, I would posit that in addition to the hardware camera shutter button, the presence of a microSD card slot, the larger 2000 mAh battery and last but not least the kickstand are no so minor hardware advantages.

Should I get this instead of waiting for the iPhone 5?

Long time sprint user and said I would get an iphone when sprint got them. Currently using an Evo and my contract is up. I was going to wait for the iphone 5 to come out, but the specs on this look pretty tempting. Also finally having some decent space on the phone itself is very appealing. I am super disappointed in the storage on my current evo since not all applications and be moved over to the SD. This leaves me not installing many applications that I would like to have..
I would wait for LTE to come out first to make your decision. I personally will never purchase an Apple product because I'm cheap and don't feel like paying for programs like Navigation.

Do you like the OS of the EVO?

If so, you'll likely detest the Apple.

Do you currently use Double Twist?

If not, go give ti a try for a month. It's as close to iTunes as you can get. Please remember that you'll be spending a lot of your time...

Say It's Not So.

It appears the wrap-up section was a little rough on the beaver.

As an original Evo owner since day one, I have not been more happier with a phone. It has performed excellently and kept up with the Jones' for the last two years. However, time has taken a toll on the charging port and I need to retire the old girl. I have waited for HTC's new offering of the HTC LTE.

I'm sorry Eric, but I am taken back by your review. It appears you're more angry at Sprint's 3G network and lack of LTE and have indirectly taken it out on the device by telling people to wait. I am sure many others are in a similar position as myself of hardware issues that have been waiting.

I didn't have WiMAX when the Evo came out and I will not have LTE as this ne...

I'm in the same boat as you John and I too will be upgrading to this phone when it comes out. I have the Galaxy S 4G with Verizon for work and have decided to past on the Galaxy S 3 with Sprint for this phone. I enjoyed my Evo to much to pass up on th...

It's not Eric's fault Sprint's 3G sucks. What do you want him to do, lie to the consumer like Sprint reps (mostly authorized dealers to be fair) by telling potential customers that they have sufficent amount coverage in their neighborhood when they ac...

John - Thanks for your comments. Perhaps I didn't make my point clearly enough in the wrap-up.

Yes, the mobile broadband speeds are outright pathetic, and that's Sprint's fault, not HTC's. The point I was trying to make is that for some users, fas...

It's mind boggling...

how a carrier can release and promote LTE phones without having an LTE network! πŸ™„ Nice phone though but I read it has radio problems already which is affecting battery life and Sprint's 3G is more like 1X these days
Your right about the 1X, that's because they are currently upgrading to 1x Advanced. The LG Viper is Sprints first LTE phone.

Not sure if your aware but whenever someone buys a phone they are under a 2 year contract. I would be pretty upset if they were rolling out the LTE when I was eligible for upgrade and I couldn't get a phone that would run on the soon to be nationwide...

Why is it mind-boggling?

The LTE network rollout - like any new cellular network - is a massive undertaking that takes time. They're actually moving pretty quickly with it, assuming they stick to the schedule.

If they phones are ready now, why n...

HD Voice

The article mentions that the Evo 4G LTE requires LTE in order for HD Voice to work. Everything that I've read seems to say the exact opposite, that HD Voice has absolutely nothing to do with LTE, but rather 1x Advanced.
https://www.phonescoop.com/articles/article.php?a=10404 »

It says it will work on CDMA 1x Advanced there, but it also says it's not a feature you'll get right out the door with the phone. Maybe it's a feature that they're not going to enable until a...

Error has been corrected.
It requires 1x Advanced, but that is being rolled out at the same time as LTE, as part of the same wave of network upgrades.

What's funny is….

My average (3G/HSDPA+) download speed on AT&T in the New York Metropolitan area is: 16 Kbps.
About what I was getting with Sprint in Phoenix...also funny. So I paid the early termination fee, switched to AT&T for the One X and LTE, and now averaging 20-30 mps or faster. Couldn't be happier. My advice...switch to whatever works in your are...

Will it have 802.11ac wireless radio?

I read that the Snapdragon S4 (MSM8960) has an 802.11ac "module available"... but does that mean that it's necessarily always included in all phones with an S4?
Got an email back from HTC basically saying "we haven't announced whether it will have 802.11ac functionality".

Hope It can wireless tether

I use my phone as my main internet access at home. I love that feature.
LOL what do you think this is? A lumia or a blackberry??!?! OMFG LOLERSKATES!!! 🀨
pathetic, i hate it when people pull this nonsense and complain that their phone isn't powerful enough to handle a house.
That's technically violating the terms of Sprint service. You take a risk of Sprint cutting you off when you do that.

But yes, as shown in the feature list here, it has the mobile hotspot feature.
