Kind of interesting to see Verizon embrace Google voice,,,
Any company with "Free calls to ___ numbers" on their plans (My Faves, My Circle, Friends and Family, A-List) probably HATES Google Voice due to the way people can exploit it to get free calling.
I was thinking the same thing. Myself, my wife, and my daughter all have Google voice accounts as of today. Just do not know how it will work with adding the numbers to A-List, but, that's the thought that I had.
Google Voice on a mobile phone is no different from any other call. It will still use minutes. It's not like a GV user gains extra minutes or is using unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile.
I did not read this as Verizon embracing Google Voice, but rather Verizon entering a partnership with Google for Android phones. The two companies may remain at odds on issues which they disagree upon, but VZW would be foolish to mess over money due ...

There are ways to figure out what numbers are GV numbers. All it would take is provisioning in their T&C that GV numbers are not included in Friends and Family. But even not considering that... to get Friends and Family, you need a higher rate plan...

Verizon tends to be industry leaders when then know they're going to lose an argument. Take two examples: local number portability and open handsets. On the issue of LNP, all the carriers were fighting the issue saying they would lose customers. But w...

What a coup!
The VZW homers are going to be unbearable now. When criticized about phone selection, they always turn to the Network as the answer. "What good is a cool phone if it is on a sub-par network?" Well once VZW gets new phones that are cool and exciting the "We are the best carrier ever." comments are going to be all over the place. *Shudder* It's going to be a long winter. LOL
my thought exactly...
I love how they mentioned that they would include GV support (slap at iphone/ATT) and that they would launch with the Android Marketplace (slap to VZWHater Trolls)
For me? I'm just happy our only Android phone won't be m...

I will never understand why so, so many on Phone Scoop are walking advertisements for wireless carriers. First and foremost all of us are consumers.
RIM needs to step up!
I hope RIM takes the initiative to get to work on a hybrid touchscreen/qwerty for Verizon like the rumored Magnum/Dakota for AT&T. Unfortunately they will probably let this Storm2 play out for the next six to nine months before we see such an innovation.
I don't think it will be 6-9 months, but I don't expect anything before Christmas. They are launching two phones (curve 2 storm 2) before christmas, launching a 3rd would most likely create confusion.
