Review: Sony Ericsson W810

Is this possible?? Thanks in advance!

My w810i has frozen and rebooted itself several times while composing an MMS or picture message.

Ruling out a warrantee/exchange or 'debranding' of this handset, is anyone aware of the patch that Sony Ericsson was developing for this specific problem? As of 11/2006 I believe this patch was under development relating to the phones 'floating memory'.

On the surface I am not finding my answer on the Sony Ericsson site.

Just found out that the w810 is not selling anymore for ATT. I have found it to be my favorite phone ever and I have had plenty. Just wanted to pay my respects to my W81 ☹️

ok i pick up this phone i been wanting it for a while now but my problem is that i can't get the mms to work i can send and recive regular txts but not pic ones i can make calls fine and get on t-zones just fine but mms just says fail i got the software frome se site and nothing and i talk to them on the phone twice and nothing well if anyone has tmobile and this phone can you tell me how you got you mms to work thanks

It's nearly time for a new phone, but I can't find anything that I like better than my W810.

I have used the flashlight ALOT (which not all of the new phones have), I like the FM radio, games, and the block form. My wife now has a slide, and I think I could handle that, but my work phone is a flip and I drop it alot, so I would like the new phone to be a block. I would also like to stay with SE. I've had three of their phones (T62u, T226, & W810) and I feel that I'm now brand loyal. Finally, I'm on AT&T and I want to stay with them since they are the only ones with service at my house.

Any recommendations for anything that maybe be coming in the near future?

I'm asking those who've debranded their phones (as I just finished doing) why the Cingular name still shows up on the main screen? I thought every vestige of the Cingular name would disappear. Also, any advice or tips to make the experience better would be welcome.

I've been using my W810i with the SanDisk 128 Pro Duo "MagicGate" that came with it, without a problem for months (bought from Cingular/ATT). So, now that the prices are down a bit, I bought a SONY 4Gig Pro Duo MagicGate.
Well, the phone didn't recognize it.
I called two different agents at SE, and they both said that "MagicGate" isn't compatable!
It appears to me that the Sony card isn't compatable, as the SanDisk works, but the Sony doesn't.
Do any of you use a Sony ProDuo MagicGate in your W810i?
Or, any other opinions on this problem?

Hey I was curious if there is any way to get the phone to save incoming and outgoing text messages to the SD card instead of the phone memory? My friend has a phone, a Nokia 5300 I believe, and it stores 1000+ in each I saw, and I was just wondering how that's possible?

If there's a way that I could find out how to get more in my inbox and outbox than just the 130 each or whatever I get, then it'd be appreciated 😁

Does debranding erase your phone book?

The sound is vey low (even at maximum bars), making outdoor conversations a strugle.

Any software/firmware upgrades out there than can help fix the problem?

This phone is otherwise very good!
The only option at&t offers is to change to a w580i. Is it louder?

Is there any way to make it remind me when I've missed a call? Or even with a message that hasn't been opened, just like where it reminds you every 5 minutes or so.

Has anyone here who might own a Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset ever found a way to kick off a call using voice commands only. I've been able to do it with my wife's Jabra BT headset but not my SE HBH-GV435 headset. If you know how could explain how to set that up? Thanks.

I'm confirmed Nokia user but my two Nokia's are going to die pretty soon - AT&T can't seem to replace with like kind (6126 is OK but no FM - N75 too "busy")sooooo am interested in SE810 'cause me and Motorola don't get along.

BUT .....

... Coming from Nokia is UI going to be too strange?
... Keypad - looks awfully small and hard to get used to. True or no ?
... Another forum keeps mentioning dropped Calls and how to mod in order to fix (too much work)
... Several reviews refer to volume issues and the need to load new drivers to fix (too much work)

Ok guys, I'm in the market for a new SE handset. I've heard good and bad about the w810 but not enough about the w610. So please, help me out. I need a reliable phone with a very good music player and decent camera.
