That was the BEST!!! I worked there for 5 years selling cell phones. It was a no brainer. You would get the FULL value of the phone back plus whatever of the warranty that wasn't used. Most times I walked away with a new phone, new warranty AND $$$...

three best buy reps here attest that the return would be based on the retail price (which for example for the evo is $449.99) and not the purchase price(ie., evo @$199.99)..which i believe, and im sure im not alone in this, is suicidal for the company..

Please explain how this is a scam? You pay a one time fee and can get up to HALF the retail price back after 31 days of purchase. People can actually make a profit doing this so I don't see how its a scam.

7 months later i get $240 40%
12 months later i get $180 30%
and it costs $50?
So I pay $50, then 4 months later I hate my phone and want a new $600 retail phone... then I get $300 back.. Take the $50 I paid for the plan so we are talking $250.
Now I have $250 credit but the new model is $600, because they are not going to give me contract price again... correct?
So if I want the new $600 retail phone I am looking about $350 out of pocket?

So as a Sprint Premier customer you can upgrade once a year. You go to Best Buy and get your new HTC EVO on contract for 199.99. Add 59.99 for buy back, but since I want my device protected I than get Buy Back for 29.99. A year passes ans there is a new EVO that retails for 199.99. I give Best Buy my old EVO and they give me 325 dollars. Now I have a new EVO and 125 extra in my pocket to buy accessories.
Verizon Customer:
My phone just went out and I need a new phone now, I am hearing rumors there is an iPhone 4 coming out on Verizon but there is no confirmation and I need a phone today. I upgrade to the HTC Incredible since Best Buy is selling the device for free. I pay 59.9...
