SAMSUNG A680 gone!

Sprint no longer showes the a680 as an offer, but many independent stores do. Is it obsolete?
The Sprint rep wants me to look at the a620 instead. I think that phone is even older!
Have heard good stuff about the A680. Worth searching out?

The a680 is a nice little phone, and they havent actually gotten rid of it, they have just came out with a newer version, the a740. although if you still want the a680, head to your local sams club, we have them for $40 with service agreement.

Ya, I saw it at Sams. On line, there are places offering it free(ya!?) I know, easier said than done! phone is for the kid, and she says that is the one. From what I read, the a740 is a downgrade + no reviews out yet.

the a680 has been replaced its new replacement is the samsung a700 not the a740 the a740 is what will be replaceing the a620

the biggest reason a phone is dropped from sprints line up is most often because they simply have to get rid of a phone so they can bring a new one out. they usually get rid of the one that is a not selling or b simply just very old. of course there are exceptions to the rule.

my stupid sprint rep told me the a740 was its replacement, lol. thanx for the info steve. also, be leary about buying it online, a lot of those sites tend to sell refurbished phones. at sams, you get a 30 day return exchange policy and typically (depending on the rep) a person willing to help you with any problems you may run into. I know i do my best for every customer i get, but we dont all know everything. =) good luck davidcote

the a-680 is gone as is the a-620. But i think that the a-760 and a-740 will remain for a little while, they are still relatively new. not selling well but new. dcote99 is i'm sure a Sprint rep and could be right but so am I and I haven't heard as of now that they are bein pulled

We push a lot of volume at Sams Club and we still have a few =). And actually Sprint Retail stores push half the amount of new activations as Authorized dealers, according to their Q4-04 report.

i hate to break it to you. new customers are not the only ones who buy phones. the 20 minnion existing subscribers buy handsets as well. the retail stores by far sell a higher volume of handsets. but i do understand where you are comeing from only thinking about the new customers 🙄

I hate to break it to you... steve, you are not always right. And you are pretty rude when you THINK you are. The 680 is still on the planogram at the sprint stores....

what does planogram have to with a phone not being dicontinued? once you have some experiance with sprint you will realize a phone stayes on planogram on average of 5 months after it is discontinued.

but then again i could be wrong i am in the largest sprint market so we run out of product before every other market.

but i assure you the phone has been discontinued. in fact the raming units will be sold durring th march madness sale along with the rest of the sanyo 5300 6000s samsung a460s and what ever else they found laying around the ware house

and what is wir? and third party venders can do upgrades. they use the hup site and pcs fast. working at wir you should have known that

WRI or Wireless Retail Inc. is a third party venor that used to run in every Sams Club. They still run in stores like BJ's, Kmart, a couple of other stores throughout the country. The Sams Club portion is now a division of Radio Shack, called SCKiosks as of 10-1 that up until probably next month has not been eligable to do upgrades.
