Sprint sux!!!! when it comes to offering PDA choices. It has only one with PocketPC that is, Audiovox!

Does anybody from Sprint beta team, talk about upcoming PocketPC phones? Also when and if they consider i730 phones?

When is EVDO coming to Detroit?

Thanks,

Actually Srpint also carries the Samsung SP-I600 which is a clamshell phone running Windows Mobile 2003 Phone Edition. Has all the same features as a Pocket PC, just doesn't have a touch-screen. They also carried the Hitachi G1000 wich was a PocketPC 2002 device.

Appreciate your response. But please dont compare Audiovox or i700/730 with SP-I600 or G1000. We are talking about similar or same line of products here. There is absolutely no choice or options when it comes to higher end business phones. All we see is ONE audiovox. Again I emphasize ONE phone.

Along with me, there are many frustrated customers! How do they expect their customers to be loyal to them!? Seems to me that Sprint is not able to catch up with its competitors. And funnily there is not even a talk about similar upcoming phones

IMHO this is a problem more with the Windows Pocket PC software's bugs when used in phones that is the main focal point. Just look at the problems with the T-Mobile H6315 manufactured by Hewlett Packard. Microsoft hopes to correct these problems with the release of WM5 (Windows Mobile 5). Hopefully once devices start coming out with this new OS, Sprint will release more PocketPC devices. Right now it seems that they are primarily focused on Palm. There are several features Palm devices offer by default that one must purchase additional software for the PPC that make them more ideal for most users.

For example: Pocket Outlook (on ANY PPC) does not have an option to enter unique authentication info for the outgoing server. Since most ...

Who is trying to catch who? It's not like any of the carriers are in a race against the others on who can develop the products faster, since they are getting their handsets from the same companies. It just has to do with the contracts with the manufacturers, and how much if any they want to pay for exclusivity or early rights. Sprint released the Treo 650 in November 2004 (7 months ahead of Verizon), bringing many Verizon customers ove...

there is a reason why sprint does not offer a lot of the pda phones that are produced. quality issues. sprint has one of the highest standards for quality in the industry. a lot of pda phones are not well built at all. in addition to that ppc 2003 and earlier are not the best platforms. in fact after the hatachi g1000 sprint woul dnot carry any phone with ppc 2002. because the os would not allow for provisioning. most of the time. this is why sprint never carried the htc 5050 and the samsung i700 thsi is also why verizon had the i600 for over a year befor sprint. samsung was not licensed for ppc 2003 so sprint would not carrie the device untill samsung would put ppc 2003 on it.

so yes according to you sprint sucks because it wants to onl...

the ppc 6600 is actually an evdo device once sprint ofically launches evdo there will be an upgrade that will enable evdo on the device.

evdo is actually a faster run rate then most hot spots you will find (because most hot spots are so over loaded with users it takes away the bandwidth.

honestly wifi really would have been nice i use wifi in my place but with evdo there really will be no need for wifi
