MetroFlash Updates
A Metro rep told me yesterday that an update is in the works to fix the web and mms problem. If I flash my Voyager now, what will be destroyed and will it be fixed by the update? I understand that the MP3 player will be gone if I flash... does anyone know if the BREW functions (including email) are available post flash? The rep said they should work since the voyager is brew compatible. I just bought this phone and before I destroy it by flashing, I just want to know if it can be redeemed later by the update, without the mp3 function, I'd rather keep my Slvr. Thanks for any info! (I just bought the phone, new, and I would rather sell it than wreck it.)

actually you loose all applications it only has voice and text and i dont know if the update will fix this i havnt even seen confermation that there was a update in the works i was just told there was

Metro at the moment is neither confirming or denying the update.
The only update I've heard about so far is the AWS update, to allow flashed phones to work in the new Markets ( Vegas and Philly )
The MMS and Mobile Web update just seems like speculation right now, I've not heard anything of the sort from a reliable source. They all say the same thing, "Maybe, we really don't know"
So if they are going to release an update, they haven't announced it to their own employees in this market yet.

Metroflash will not work for MMS or web browsing, due to the phones network configuration. the same way an unlocked cingular phone will not send MMS on the tmobile network. the update is only for efficiency and to raise the success rate.

This is not a problem that can be fixed because it really will work but metro does not want it to work. they blocked these features because they dont want to deal with trouble shooting a flashed phone that is having problems with web or mms. this is what a rep from the company who makes the sw that metro uses told me.
