Texting on a MetroPCS smart phone.
Hey everyone,
I currently have a Samsung FreeForm and I was thinking about upgrading to one of Metro's Andriod handsets.
Currently, when I text, I can only type in 160 characters. I have noticed on other carriers that their smart phones appear to have unlimited characters when they text and was wondering if this is also the case for smart phones on MetroPCS.
Thank you

No. Under SMS you still can only text 160 characters, but the phone allows you to either convert it to a MMS (which has unlimited characters) or split it into two, three, etc SMS texts.

It'll always read unlimited, it'll just show up as multiple sms if the recipient is a non smartphone user.
