well this is an interesting turn of events. today amp'd filed for chapter 11 protection, wow what a surprise considering how great they seemed to be doing so fast. should be interesting to see how things turn out... 😲

Reached over thier 100,000 mark last month! AWESOME! 75,000 came in since November, hopefully they keep growing the way they are, helio has yet to reach 100,000 mark, but thier starting to compete.

This would happen right after I get the phone. I'd better ditch Amp'd before it ditches me, huh?

We will welcome all amp'd customers with open arms. If your credit is a problem them take a look at the Easy Pay plans. I've even heard of people using their amp'd handset on the Verizon network. Just remember to bring a copy of your bill or at least know your account number.

I wonder if Verizon is going to try to snag the half of Amp'd customers who actually paid their bills? Something like a discounted introductory offer or somethin' might be a good way to go about it.

i have to say that amp'd is not the best carrier. i had a very dificult time porting my number in. they lost my cell number for a short time, and they deleted my home number because they got all the numbers mixed up. i didn't even know they could delete a number that's with another company. also, they charge me for things that are supposed to be free. i try to watch tv, witch is supposed to be free, and they charge me like two bucks for five minutes worth of video. and txt messaging cost 10 cents per message. i can't download mobile aim like they said i could, and the internet version cost alot because they charge alot per kilobyte or whatever. the service is very fast when you're in an area with a strong signal, that's one of the few good t...

For a startup cell company, I think that Amp'd is a pretty good provider. The only complaint that I have against them is that their cust. service (which I only had to use once) sucks.

Come on now guy's you know Amp'd is not as bad as you guys are making it out to be. yeah you have a little bit of a wait time but so DOES EVERYONE ELSE. WE HAVE VERIZON'S NETWORK. so if you compare to everyone else, tmobile doesnt have the greatest coverage and neither does sprint AND metro. and if you talk about there customer service.... well lets compare
Tmobile- amazing customer service- horrible coverage
Sprint/nextel- broken up coverage and horrible customer serivce and your bill is F**ked up every month.
ATT/cingular- Bad customer service, good coverage, expensive plans.
Verizon- Decent customer service, THE BEST COVERAGE NATIONWIDE. ( you can't disagree)
AMP'D Mobile- Verizon's coverage plus extreme entertainment, slow customer ...

I pray to God every night before I head off to bed that Amp'd Mobile is violently torn apart and dissolved like a school of sharks on a wounded fish amongst their creditors seeing how they owe $100 million in debt to which the greatest chunk, $33 million, is owed to Verizon Wireless on which Amp'd Mobile relies upon for their 1x-EV-DO voice and data services. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I also hope Verizon Wireless will leave the 170k Amp'd Mobile customers in the dark by terminating their wireless access ASAP seeing that of that 170k customer base, approximately half of them are deadbeat customers defaulting on their 18 month contracts. Why is the Hollywood {E816} Bluettoth crippled? Reps, as wel las the box, say that it isn't, yet is is. Supwidat?!

Since I downloaded the latest upgrade my hollywood is acting SO strange.
It has "Barely" a signal, wont bring up ampd live half the time, wont send txts sometimes.
Main thing that erks me is my signal.
They say I'm in a coverage area, and I get NOTHING hardly.
Has anyone had these problems since the upgrade?
Oh, and I have had this phone for about 9 months now.
I have done the *22890, *22891, and *22899
I have been told by Ampd they work off Verizon Only, then was told they work off all towers.
Sick of this mess.
Cant get tech support on the phone either.

Ampd tells me they are sending me a replacement phone, and it better not be a refurbished one. Said it was sent the 18th of LAST month, still have not recieved it.
I bought those sticker antenna booster things that go under the battery, I have 4 of them on it....don't work.

Nothing works. When I do those from home, goes right thru, but from work, 12 miles from home, says "Welcome to Alltel" ??????? and wont activate. I get NO signal at work, and very little at home.
Phone worked fine until the upgrade.
Now my "My Account" under Minu is gone, get dropped calls, on, and on.

Ampd mobile is bankrupt. Do not sale or buy their products!!!!!!(note: i have sold ampd for 3 months and havent recieved a check for selling it. Not proof???!!) Heard from a reliable source.

Can anyone who has an Amp'd Mobile Hybrid plan tell me how you like it or not? I have heard from plenty of people that Amp'd Hybrid plans have billing issues. Is that true?

I ordered my phone (Motorola E816 Hollywood) and it arrived 3-4 days later. I fired it up and called to activate it and everything was fine. The hold times are a bit long but the people are generally friendly and I encountered no hassle with getting clear answers to my questions.

The phone it self is great! Nice features, good channels (overload package) and the price is about $10 a month less than with my nextel phone and get 200 more minutes a month a verizon quality coverage (which is excellent around here). I have even watched a few clips from commedy centeral and it worked fine. The speaker for the phone is a bit "tinney" but it's phone and it's not so bad with the ear piece. last week while on the phone with tech support diagnosing a Amp'd Live problem, the guy i was talking to was reading back some tech notes about my issue when he mentioned HYBRID AND PAY-AS-YOU-GO CUSTOMERS WHO PURCHASE AN OVERDOSE PACKAGE($20)ONLINE, WILL RECEIVE THAT SUBSCRIPTION FOR LIFE. i personally haven't tried it yet, i'm a new Hybrid member with one more month of free OverDose.
