Help, my father has this old phone that he wants me to pull a ringtone off for him. When I connect to my Windows 8.1 computer, it does not recognize the device. Is there any software that is available (without spyware) that will help this phone get recognized? THANK YOU!!

First, try BitPim (bitpim.org) to be able to transfer from the phone to the computer.
I'm not sure about Windows 8 compatibility, but you may need to download VZ Access Manager for the phone's drivers. Try the download at
