Need help unlocking. Please.
I have Cingular, my dad has ATT. I got the new razor from Cingular for him. He put his ATT chip in it an it worked perfectly. I put my Cingular chip in his ATT Motorola V505 and it said "Enter Subsidy Password:". I am pretty sure that password it to unlock the phone and Customer Care won't help me, obviously. So do any of you guys out there know the password. Thank you for your time.

Unfortunately, subsidy unlock codes are generated by the IMEI... I don't believe any rep here would generate it... I could be mistaken... Fortunately, you can always search online and have it unlocked... It may cost you a couple bucks though.

Hey , the manufacturer has the unlock code, but they signed a clause and cannot disclose that info. The wireless carrier does not know it. It is designed to protect the provider. SOL. The only thing you can do is surf the net. The codes are out there online, but that is it. Don't spend $5000 on a phone, unless you're sure you want to stay with that provider for at least a couple of years

Unfortunatly, motorola phones cannot be remotley unlocked unless motorola provides the code. only way to do this on your own is to puchase and unlocking clip. Most of these clips can run over $200. Check ebay. Better off purchasing another phone.
