My GSM service doesn't work at my place of business, or my home. I can only get service while driving to and from work. ATT Said it's most likely my phone and the new GSM phones they offer are better. Their solution: Migrate me BACK to the TDMA network and give me an old phone, this doesn't work since I have 100+ names/numbers in my phone which will not be stored on the crappy phone they give me.

Apparantly, they have an entire "Reverse Migration" program available for people to switch back to TDMA because their GSM network is lousy.

ATT Customer service is just as bad as thier network. 😡

Just noticed a ATTWS in area. Just opened up. Anyone know how good it is in this area.I had ATTWS on Long Island and it worked great!!!!

I have to tell you that I have been an Attws customer for a while now. My contract with Attws is already finished and I am now month to month.
Customer service has always been good to me, it's policys that people like me will be the reason to switch carriers. I wish I had done more research before "hooking" up with Attws. I admit it is my own fault, for not getting more info.
The only reason I'm still with Attws is at the moment my resume has my current Attws number. Once I begin a new job, I no longer need to have Attws as my carrier after Nov.24.
That is the only thing that has stopped me from going to Verizon.
J.D. Powers and Consumers magazine gave Verizon the best write up( as per say in Consumers Report).

I have a few questions about polyphonics tones..
1) Can I download my own tones and put on 3560 or I have to pay and only way to get them is via ATT?
2) What format are they? .Midi or .mmf?
3) If I can get my own tones, how would I put them into the phone? I have have infrared laptop..

If Docomo wireless of Japan owns part of At&t Wireless, won't At&t Wireless have an advantage in the enhancement of technologies in the future? I don't know of any other GSM carrier that has a partnership with a WCDMA carrier, does anyone know?

Is it true that At&t Wireless is the only service provider in the United States to start with the expansion of UMTS? If that is so, than how will you travel around the U.S., if some parts are UMTS and some are GSM?

I was just wondering, since you know a lot about Attws. If you had to pick one that Attws sells, and if you travel cross country a lot, which phone would be, "must have, has to work no matter what"?
You seem to know your "stuff". What would be your choice?
And if you didn't work for or with Attws what carrier would you use instead of Attws?

Time to break-in this forum, how better than with a question.
Here goes.
I have an elderly father in BayShore, Long Island, New York. The land area code there is *631* and the zipcode is "11706* but he borders on the BayShore/Brentwood line. He lives west of 5th ave, north of north of Southern State Parkway and east of the Sagtiskos(spelling) pkwy.
The question is, if in the near future I have to go there if he becomes ill, is that area well covered by ATTW? I live in Gainesville, Fl. and I haven't in New York 14 years. If I should have to go up there in a hurry, cell phone service is the last thing I need to think about.
I will need a phone to work in both states. Do recommend TDMA,GSM,GPRS or something else? If this w...

I have out, that like any other company out there, Attws will be losing quite a few people on and around Nov. 24th.
They don't seem to want to deal like most other carriers of the "market".
Watch their stock go down in the beginning of 2004. And when you get the chance, check out "Fortune's 500" annual report.
The only way Attws can prevent itself from losing more money, they will have to buy or join t-mobile and cingular, and become one large carrier. These three will have to join up to become one.
So what do you think?

We all see commmercials for cell phone carriers on T.V., radio, in print etc.
If everybodies contract with their carrier was up yesterday, which carrier would be your 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3th choice and so on?
I keep hearing how great thses carriers think they are, but for the "heck" of it, what do you think? This is just a random poll, of what people think in different states. If you do answer this, please state what "state" you mostly reside in or where you use your cell most of the time?
By the way, I do not work for any carrier nor any retail stores of any kind. If you must know, I'm a freelance photographer.

I am trying to set up my email account, and I think that I did everything right. I can send email fine. but when I try to receive mail, it connects to the server and then displays the message "Receiving Mails". The problem is that it never retrieves any mail and just keeps "Receiving Mail". I let it receive for as long as 10 minutes, but nothing was happening.

As anyone else set up their email account on their T616 and had success.
