TMO pumps out more smartphones while ATT still relies on iPhone
Will the bigger choice of devices disappear if the ATT/TMO merger is approved? 😕

Yeah, you're right...they hardly have any smartphones 🙄
The point is AT&T is slow to release new, exciting Android devices/iPhone competitors, has a limited selection compared to other carriers (look at Sprint and Verizon's line ups), and so forth...
It will be interesting to see what happens in the next monthish... will they get a Galaxy SII? Will they get a Sensation-esque phone? Will they ever get an Android phone with full keyboard that isn't total crap?
Or, will they continue to just not get p...

If you read the article that started this, you would see that IS the point. The average rating of AT&T's non-iPhone smartphones is lower than their competitors by half a point. Why? Not for lack of total choices (AT&T has more choices than T-Mobile actually) rather a lack of good choices.
It is their lack of other smartphones that compete with the iPhone, let alone compete with other carriers line ups. There really is no denying that while they have some good choices, they have fewer than their competitors, and they have nothing on par with their competitors top tier....

Lets be honest though, out of the box, the iPhone is a midrange phone. So what att really lacks is any true high end competitive choices. My comment was less of an attack on your statement and more a rebuttal. There are a couple that are not true smartphones that I would whole heartedly agree with your statement though.
😳 Wow! That statement is so far off the mark! Out of the box the iPhone is one of the best phones, and without a doubt part of that is being a top tier device. Nicest screen, most accurate touch input, well developed OS with a very good UI (if old/stale, still very good)... the iPhone4 exudes quality and expensive.
I don't see how "out of the box" it is mi...

Your questions make little sense. Where did I talk about apps at all? You are implying that I'm full of it for saying the iPhone is not top of the line? Let's look at a few key points because your post highlights the hardware and generalizes the software.
Little background, I work for VZW and have AT&T service. It wasn't a post against AT&T because obviously whatever they are doing is working. Can't fault them for being successful.
Out of the box means right after you sync it to your computer. Obviously its a brick straight out of the box. Hardware wise it has great build materi...

Also, notice that YOU jumped into the conversation I was having with not pickles. So before you go around saying I haven't read anything, why don't you recognize the fact you jumped into the middle of my conversation?
Oh, and I did read what you had said (which by the way was very trollish given not pickles and I had already concluded our discussion and he had conceded what you then tried to shove down his throat a week later.)
BTW, when the iPhone 4 came out, it was the fastest CPU/GPU combo in the cell phone world, and held that title until Tegra2 chips hit. And assuming the iPhone 5 gets the same dual core the iPad 2 got, it will once again be the fastest CPU/GPU chip combo in the world until something quad core chip set comes out down 6 months later.
I don't even like the iPhone, hate iOS, but I am not dumb enough or troll enough to call it mid-tier and act like comparing an over a y...
