Will you be able to get out of a contract after the merger if you dont want Verizon.

With not much going on with the Alltel/Verizon merger I dont see it getting completed till mid 2009.

Every customer I've talked to for a month now ends (or starts) our sales experience with either the question, "So when are you guys gonna be Verizon?" or some redneck variation of it. i.e. "When's my phone gonna say Verizon on it?" I think I'm gonna go apply at a V store to just get away from retarted Alltel custys.....DAAAAMN!

My gf has alltel and she dropped her phone in water and its starting to fade fast. I thought I would see if anyone on here has a spare.

Alltel advertises in my area all the time but yet they do not offer service her. I just dont get it. I live in Anniston Al and they dont even offer it in Birmingham either but I see them on my local channels all the time. I would use them if I could, I think CDMA is better than GSM but I am with ATT cause I hate Verizon and they are the only CDMA that I can get.

All Verizon wanted is the 850MhZ Spectrum in the Southern US they could not otherwise get through auction. Period.The only way Verizon could expand it's 850MHZ (the prime cell phone space)was to buy Alltel. I recently started working for a wireless dealer and managed to acquire a Blackberry Curve 8330. After working here for a certain period of time, I understand I will be legible for a dealer plan. Does anyone have information as to what the price/s are for a blackberry/voice&data dealer plan?

What do you think? Which one would you choose and why? I know the main difference is the QWERTY keyboard but I would like to know if there is a better reason to get the Pro.

is there a way to avoid paying an activation fee if i use the pay-per-day method? I bought a phone on ebay, and i was kinda hoping i could dodge the act fee.... i called alltel, and they werent really feeling my idea on that... so can anyone help???

I have several phones with alltel and would like to renew my contracts with alltel before we actually become Verizon.

Does anyone know if we will get any new phones and if so any idea which phones. I have seen some really neat phones online from the fall line up of other carriers.

I currently have the Touch but the speaker seems to be going out and I am considering just getting a different phone because TXT is sort of more difficult on the Touch IMO.

Anyway I am looking at the BlackBerry Curve, Q9C, or the LG Glimmer. Which one would you suggest? Or is their another phone that you would suggest other than those. I use the Internet alot on my phone so I am wondering if the Glimmers web isnt the best and if Windows-Based is alot better than the BlackBerry browser? Also, on the Curve is their picture/video messaging???

Everyone freaking out about the VZW/Alltell situation please stop acting like you know what is going to happen. None of us that work for either company is 100% sure what is going to happen so please stop making these retarded posts about how My Circle will die, or when and how different plans/promos/etc are going to be changed. If you are at the upper management level in this situation and have some knowledge of what is happening I HIGHLY doubt you have enough time to be screwing around on Phonescoop about speculation.

Second point: VZW people. If you really do work for the company stop looking like jerks and coming on here going off about how Alltel is done for and the employees need to go look for jobs, etc. I'm happy to work for VZW b...

I have the alltel palm treo 700p.

I am on family plan.

The family plan is a smart phone plan.

My smart phone isn't the primary phone on the plan.

My question is, "Has anyone been able to call in and cancel the data part of the plan. In other words, I would rather pay less per month and then not have the ability to use the web browser."

I have called in and talked to several alltel agents and they have all said that if I have the smart phone I have to pay higher price.

The reason I even ask this question is that i have a friend who activated a used verizon treo 650 on verizon wireless and was able to do this without data plan.
