ok...so ive had my 5550 since christmas(this christmas, so its still in the one year thing) and ive already replaced it once. but now...my screen is really starting to mess up. before it was a black/white screen here and there, but now i cant even turn on my phone w/o seeing the black screen of death. ive tried restarting it...calling it...nothing works. we've only got mayb 3-5 months left of alltel...do u think i should get a different phone...or just go with another 5550 to last the remaining months?

i work for cingular and have my phone throught alltel. originaly i didn't port over to cingular because i couldn't afford to term my contract. now i don't because i've had to deal with cingular reps in my job and alltel reps for personal business. i always escalate when i call 611 (sorry about your stats) to tell everyone how great cust service is. if i inform any kind of managment at work about someone or everyone in general it's not good. i'm not the only one, one of my friends got a cingular phone and tried to set it up on an employee plan (1000 free mins/month) before he even had the phone an hour (no joke) he had opened a new acct under alltel and returned the phone to cingular. ($10/month cingular compared to $50/month alltel) 😉 ...

Just got home from a shortened work day. Thank you Gandalf1 for your support. It just seems so obvious to me. How can anyone defend a company that is so under-staffed that they can't answer the phones??!!!! It'd be hilarious if it weren't so sad.

I cannot believe that Alltel would go as low as to us T-mobile's bait and switch. 1500 anytime without any promos. Again I am perplexed by the wireless companies. It's advertising brings in people, but tarnishes Alltel's good name by being a bait and switch.

Has anyone heard anything new on the buy out? In Kansas and Nebraska it is still up in the air. Any ideas on the chances of it going through? I'm with WW, will we be able to get out of our contracts? Or will we go to another company, like Verizon?

I'm hoping to get some help from someone who maybe works or has worked for Alltel...I work for Cingular but I have an Alltel phone (I live in the boonies where we don't' have Cingular service) and my caller id has not been working. When I call in they tell me that my number is not caller id compatible 😕 and that there are no numbers available in my area that are caller id compatible. I know that sometimes phones can not be compatible with caller id but this is the first time I've ever heard of a phone number not being compatible....help??

When is Alltel going to come out with a new user friendly palm pilot phone, other than the 7135? anyone?

have you heard it? it supposedly only comes on the v600, what crap 😡 . It is a must have ringer if you hve a Motorola v710.
