LG AX5000

Nothing on Phonescoop or LG's website about this phone, as far as camera resolution, display quality, etc...? How does it compare to the V710 and 6255i?

New coverage map

This is from corporate one more thing to be excited about from Alltel and the future if you use them!!!
"Alltel owns and operates the largest wireless network in America!
In this ad Alltel will be touting the fact that it has the nation’s largest owned and operated wireless network in America.

With the acquisition of Western Wireless Alltel became the nation’s largest wireless owned and operated network based on square miles. What does this mean to the Customer? It means that Alltel’s network [owned and operated] covers more square miles than that of any other carrier. This is a HUGE advantage to doing business to Alltel since the common perception is that Alltel isn’t nationwide and that we are a small, regional type carrier."...

At&t to Alltel Info

I am one of the step-children oklahoma att customers who has put up with terrible GSM service over the last 4-5 months. I have watched this forum and listened to all parties. I took the adivce and waited to change to Alltel's CDMA service when the new phones would be offered to the former att customers. I got 3 Kyocera kx 440's on Aug 7th and I haven't looked back since. I have service where I never had before and have yet to drop a call or have a call roll over to voice mail because of no signal. The T2T is unbelievable! My business partner left for San Antonio Monday and T2T'd me on and off during the whole trip with no problems. So far I am extremely happy and glad that I waited. My plan and service package is a few dollars chaper ...

change from att to alltel

Does anyone know specifically when we (former AT&T) to make the decision to stay or leave alltel? I either read or heard till dec 31, 05. Just wandered if anybody knew for sure. Nothing was in the "packet" I finally received.

Will Alltel pick up new phones / new technology soon?

With the completion of Alltel buying Western Wireless, does anyone know if we might see a launch of new phones, especially video models, coming to Alltel?

And any word on EV-DO technology coming either?

Western Wireless GSM?

For those who are familiar with Alltel's aquisition of Western Wireless, what does Alltel plan to do with WW's GSM networks? Sell them or continue to offer them as roaming coverage for other carriers?

Alltel Reflash on Prepaid Phone. Help Pleas!!!

I have a prepaid Alltel customer who is using a Motorola V265 that was orginally used for Verizon. The phone worked fine for approximately one week and then says he is roaming and will be charged a $2.99 roaming fee per minute. I sent him to and Alltel store for a reflash per tech support and they said since it was a Verizon phone that if they reflashed it it would fry the phone. Everyone I ask at Alltel tech support or cust. service says this is not true. Is there anyone out there who does reflashes that can verify this for me before I tell the customer to get it done and ruin their phone. Thanks

Western Wireless Spin Off Question

I have a question about the Western Wireless licenses that Alltel must spin off (like here in Nebraska), does anyone know who is buying these licenses? I would like to see Verizon buy the Nebraska licenses and expand their coverage to areas outside of Omaha (which is the only part of Nebraska that Verizon has licenses in).

Question about alltel-do they have partner transfer networks?

hello I a a recently switched attwireless to alltel customer. My number is located in OK . while the serice is great and I lve the free v710 they sent me I may end up using a lot of off network minutes. Does alltel have the same policy like attws that if you use 3 months or more off the company network they will ask you leave the company or use service more on their network? I am now in NYC. Attws had a deal with several partners that if you left a attws market you could transfer your service to another partner with no penalty. Is this the case with alltel? Do they have a deal with verizonwireless? thanks

Does Alltel limit Bluetooth?

I work for Verizon, but use Alltel. (Don't tell anyone 😈 ) Verizon has limited Bluetooth capabilities on most of their phones. You can do most of the things people need such as using the headsets and handsfree kits and syncing with a computer to transfer phonebooks and calandars, but you can't use most of the phones as a modem or transfer files with Bluetooth. Does Alltel limit Bluetooth capabilities as well, or do we get full use of the features?

And for the record, in my area, I will stay with Alltel. Verizon is a great company, but you gotta go with what works best where you are.
