I understand selling spectrum, but assets and subscribers are involved in the deal too. How can a CDMA carrier just acquire assets of a TDMA/GSM carrier?

I hear it will be sometime in December. I don't know for sure, but if so it will most likely be in the top 100 markets (i.e. major cities).... i'm hangin here to....waiting

I live in Jackson Ms and they won't be reciveing the V710 until next month but I called 1800alltel9 and they said if its not in your area then you can just order it on the phone.

Friday Alltel began selling the Audiovox 8400, a color screen phone with speakerphone and brew capabilities. I played with the phone today and I really like the phones design. Smallest color screen phone Alltel has, it reminds me of a Sony-Ericsson or Siemens phone like AT&T Wireless has, if the Kyocera Touch 2 Talk phone isn't what I'm hoping for I'm definitely getting this one. 😁

I had Altell for one day before I decided that it would be smarter for me to purchase a cell phone instead of a minature megaphone.

To those who have already gotten the V710, I'd like to know whether the bluetooth file transfer is fully functional as well as the ability to email pics from computer to the phone. Basically I'd like to know whether Alltel has limited multimedia functions and still require a date cable or access downloads or can I just use bluetooth file transfer and email properties?

I talked to Alltel tech services today about whether their v710 would allow me to transfer the entire phone book to the bluetooth phone in my Toyota Prius. I specifically asked if they were aware of the blutooth problems with the Verizon version. He said they were aware of Verizon's limitations and Alltel's version should be fully functional with car phones. If anybody has tried to pair an Alltel v710 with a car, preferably a Prius, please post the results. Thanks very much.

I live in a town in western Kansas and was wondering when we will get the V710 or any of the new phones that have recently came out? I talked to my Alltel rep today and they haven't even heard of any of the new phones.

Do anybody know the price of the V710. When I called the rep they said about 310. I hope this not true

This has to be the single most maddening thing to ever happen in regards to a cell phone. Alltel is the ONLY carrier that I have gotten this message from.
If, for some reason, your phone can't be found on the network, the caller gets redirected to an error message instead of to your voicemail. WHY ON EARTH IS ALLTEL CHARGING YOU FOR VOICEMAIL IF NO ONE CAN LEAVE YOU A MESSAGE???
Are they so stupid that they don't understand the fundamental idea behind voicemail? Or are they so stupid that they can't get their network to work properly? It's one or the other, folks.

Anyone heard of a new release date for the v710? I live in northern WI and my local store said they didn't have any information on the phone but thought it would be released sometime in December. Anyone else hear of this?

I'm bored at work, nothing to do, decide to check out the alltel website (something I usually never have a need to do) and bam!!! the 8910 is on there. All I can say is its about time. I for sure thought we were going in to christmas with a that old school nine phone line up. Now if they could just deliver one more surprise phone I might take back everything negative I've ever said about alltel.

I here a lot of talk about this v710 but do you really think its gonna help your sales or opinion of alltel or would you rather have two cool lookin midrange phones to sell or purchase?(this is addressed to salesman and customers) 🙄 Your opinion please.

ok....im getting a new phone hopefully soon, and i know i wont be able to get the v710 or wuteva it is, so im stuck between these two. both have major ups and downs.

from wut i hear, the 5450 w/ alltel wont let u put wallpapers, and ringtones on ur phone w/o text messaging, and requires more time to mod
and the 5550 is on "mini re-call" for problems w/ the screen or something like that. and the color screen isnt as bright

which one would be better? both have around the same features, but i really want to be able to get ringtones and wallpapers (preferably w/o text messaging, cause my parents wont pay for it ☹️). i can do w/o the camera, but it is a big plus in my book. either one would be great to have, but since im not close to the ...

I have been patiently and quietly waiting for Alltel to release an acceptable selection of phones. I've had it, I will be switching to another network. Alltel has been my provider for 5 years and their service has been aduquate / on par with other carriers. I'm sure that other customers of theirs feel the same and have / will leave for the same reason. What a dissapointment from an otherwise good service provider.

Ok so now I have been told Alltel will release the Audiovox 8910 on Nov. 11.
I need a new phone so I would like your opinions please.
Which phone is the best, the LG 5550 or the Audiovox 8910?
What are the pros & cons of each? I read the reviews on both phones but thought I would ask for live up to date views.
