I have explored many mobile development blogs for my previous query on Android Programming & get a satisfactory solution. Using the phone's native browser, I was getting an error which said "invalid application" when I tried to accept the download.

I tried accessing it from Opera Mini, which features an intermediary screen for downloads (showing file name, type, and selected download location). Google was trying to feed me the .PRC version of Maps (for Palm) instead of a .JAR (java install file). CNet's download service also offered the .prc version, even though they have it listed as a general phone application.

The good news is, GetJar.com had the correct .jar file, and that installed and ran just fine.

I recently discovered this app: Skebby free sms. Someone knows it? I found a great app, it's really cheap to send SMS with that, and moreover from here http://freesms.skebby.com/ i can send sms from web to abroad for free. 3 x day since when i published the widget.

I have been looking for a cheap texting solution (mainly out of boredom!) and came across FishText which allows the user to send cheap text messages from your mobile over GPRS. You can download the java based application free from the website
http://www.fishtext.com/ » and it provides international texts from just over 1p and UK texts for 2p. There will be a small data charge from your network provider which will vary depending on your data charges.

So far this is the cheapest and most reliable service i have found. I've looked at other possibilities such as smsbug or mobiwireless but they just don't seem as good.

Please add to the thread if you know of any other services like this 🙂

Hey T-mo...I went out n bought the t-mo gravity and since this is a message based handset, any idea on how to chamge the message tone to something of my schhoing vs the stoopid crap they have pre loaded. If no, my question is whty would they have onlt pre loaded tones for messages when this again is a message based handset. Beginning to have buyers remorse.....
