Korean GaxalyS

Hello All:

Hey, maybe this is the site I've needed to come to all along! Hoping those with knowledge of foreign phones may be able to help me out. I've got a Korean Samsung GalaxyS model HSW-M110S that I need an owners/users manual for. I've been all over the 'net", googled so much I think I've went cross-eyed, been to Samsung and they told me to use the International Samsung website, but that didn't help and have been to more that a few forums. Please, do not confuse this phone with G1900; they're not the same.
THANK YOU:

Best choice for temporary service in Europe

Hello,
I am planning a future trip to Europe and I am about to the point where my current phone is dying out on me. I have Sprint service and do not plan on changing providers. Can anyone help me figure out the best way to have phone service in Europe for a couple weeks without going broke on charges? Should I upgrade to a certain phone on Sprint? Is the Blu Phone the way to go? Is there another option?

Thanks in advance for any valid suggestions.

Trip to Italy

Hi guys and gals. I was doing a bit of research for my dad who is taking a trip to Italy his wife planned and is currently freaking out that his work won't be able to get in touch with him. He is cheap and his wife is paying for the trip. Long story short he is looking for the cheapest way to stay connected to his work back in the US. Currently he is still using Cricket

The most recent post I saw regarding Italy was from 5 years ago so I wanted to see if anyone could help me gather up some more up to date information. The gist of what I am looking for would be a cheap reliable carrier I could suggest to him. As well as cheap SIM based phone suggestions. I suspect a very basic smartphone would be adequate.

Thanks for any and all help w...

Tijuana people!

Lately I've been crossin' to TJ on the weekends with some friends of mine, and would like to know what are the best places to get wasted and do some crazy stuff (or to have a great time). Safely, obviously.

We've been goin' to la sixta, but I don't know who u guys are, since you don't have pictures, so if u see me, come say hi!

So far I've only met one of you... I don't really know how many of u are in TJ, but if u are H.M.U. 😁

Phone with LTE Bands 4 (AWS) and 7 (2.6GHz)

I'm looking for a phone that supports both LTE IV and VII. Also supporting 3 and 20 is a bonus.

Is there any phone that supports these two bands right now?

Can someone explain the difference between a GSM phone and a GSM capable phone?

I spent 45 minutes trying to comprehend the Verizon employee who seemed to be making stuff up as he went along. I told him that I want a phone that I can use in Europe and the US. He said that I need a GSM phone.

I asked him if he had any GSM phones. He said that they have Global and World Ready phones but no GSM phones, I would have to go to AT&T.

I asked if the Global and World Ready phones would work in Europe. He said that they would work ok.

I asked what he meant by "ok". He said that the phone was primarily CDMA but it had some GSM functions.

I asked him what GSM functions it was lacking. He said none.

I asked him, If it's not missing any GSM functions, then it's as good as a GSM phone, right? I'll be able to us...

In search of the right mobile phone!

Hello,

I am an American university student and will be studying abroad in Denmark for the fall. This will include weekend travel all around Europe.

I am realizing how hard it is to find a phone that has the features I need, even after using the search tools on phonescoop, so I figured I would ask if anyone has any relevant knowledge.

I am looking for a phone that I can buy a Danish simcard to use it with, and pay for minutes/texts/internet as I go. Also, I want a phone that will work back here in the US with a pay-as-you-go provider, for example Virgin Mobile.

Needed:
-QWERTY keyboard
-headset jack
-texting
-internet (at least enough to email/facebook and book flights/hostels on the go)
-Decent battery life (I am willing t...

Why Android books and magazines UK based?

Can someone please explain to me why all the magazines and books in US bookstores on the Android platform or Android apps are UK based (pricing is all or mostly in pounds, addresses for subscription services are in UK, etc.,)? Android is via Google, an American company, thus I don't get why pretty much all (OK, I found 1 written and published in the US) of the magazines and books coming out of the UK. All input helpful and welcome.

Also, I have asked this before with no response so another try... Can anyone recommend a good book or magazine to pick up for someone who is new to the Android platform (first smartphone so the learning curve is feeling a little steep)?

If customers are on this site plz read...

If you will be traveling internationally it only makes sense to call your wireless provider to see if your device will work properly over seas. DO NOT ASSUME IT WILL. I hate when you customers think that everything will be fine and then when you get your bill its really high for international travel. I think its funny how we as a company will pitty you and credit your account for YOUR mistake even though you did sign a contract for 2 years stating that YOU are financially repsonsible for your wireless services. Yes, we provide the service to you however its up to you to pay the amount owed. 👿

Using BlackBerry Overseas

All,

Can anyone tell me about their experience using a BB overseas (Western Europe and China are my concern)? I understand the process of getting a prepaid SIM but I presume this doesn't answer the issue of support for data (email/text)? Am I wrong? Please advise...

P.S. I apologize for my stupidity

developing widest userbase apps

Hi, it's great to find you all!

I am working on a small project in my spare time to support charities in Africa to collect data on how well the charity's money is being spent, monitoring and evaluating and ultimately helping things to progress over there.

What I need is advice about what programming platform to choose. Over here in the UK, we have all got iPhones or Android devices, but in Africa I want to write an app that will reach all those who have older devices, still data enabled (perhaps falling back to SMS)

So do I use BREW, J2ME, what other choices do I have?
Will I need the carrier's backing (if so can anyone suggest a route or any contacts)
Should I stick to HTML and hope that old UK/US/EU smart phones will make thei...
