exactly. and yes i know that this type of phone requires unlimited data, but not many parents are going to give their teenagers a phone with $30/mo extra tacked on. unlimited texting plans? of course. smartphone data plans? no way. that and the fact that the feature set on these phones isn't needed for most users over the age of 18 (i.e. those of us who pay our own phone bill). the phones themselves aren't bad, but the data plan requirement is a huge fail. i'd be pleasantly surprised if these sell well :)

I think the whole package, the phones and the data plan, is terrible. Even if someone offered to give me the phone free and pay for the bill free forever, I would say 'no thanks'. Actually, I'd probably laugh at them.
