It's possible. HTC goes under many names throughout the world like I-Mate, E-Ten (I think), and others.

I-Mate is Inventec (the same company who for a very long time made Palm devices) I don't know who E-Ten is.

Look at the similarties between some of the phones from both companies, as well as phones from Qtek and Dopod. There has to be a link somewhere.
