Nokia Phone 6220 from Germany

I'd like some info please. Somebody is moving to the US and has trouble understanding how to get a prepaid cell phone work in the US. I understand the phone has to be unlocked and triband- compatible. Are there US sim cards available to make this work here? Any advice is deeply appreciated!

Well did you mean that any sim card from US will work in Germany or not? If this is the question then you have to take an International roaming sim card from T-mobile, AT&T/Cingular and it will provide you service any where round the World.
