Motorola

Someone I know purchased an AT&T V600 on e-bay and wants to use it on Cingular's network. I changed technology for him and inserted his sim card and it said to insert sim, then it said contact service provider. Then it asked for subsidy password, which I have no clue how to retreive. We tried Motorola's customer service but there was no help. I would appreciate any suggestions as to what to do now. I was under the impression that all gsm motorola's are unlocked. Does that apply to Cingular GSM Motorola phones only? Thanks in advance for your help.

I just got a bluetooth usb adapter for my desktop so I could transfer files between it and my Motorola v551. I can find the phone and all the services that the phone allows, but when I attempt to connect to the phone to transfer files, it tries to connect, but always fails. I am never able to see the files on the phone or anything, but the phone always displays the bluetooth icon, so it seems to be interacting. I turned off my firewall and I have no idea what else to do. Thanks for your help.

I'm having some trouble with my new 551 headset. I'm trying to pair it with my phone and my phone isn't picking up the headset. Can anyone help me out?

I have first hand knowledge that a class action lawsuit against Motorola, Cingular, and ATT Wireless is about to be filed in Philadelphia. The suit is brought on from MPX 220 owners in the Philadelphia area. The suit states Motorola and Cingular had prior knowledge that the MPX 220 had volume and other performance issues. The remedy that the plaintiffs will ask for is a Full Refund of the purchase price of the phone (You get to keep the phone), Full Refund of any Cingular and ATT charges, Modification of Firmware and/or Hardware to resolve known issues, and all Legal Fees and Expenses.

I know of the HomeScreen Designer application. Is there any other applications that are simple to use to create new HomeScreen's?

Can anyone tell me if the v600 or v620 would allow me to customize the ring style, not only by selecting a different tune and/or editing it, but by allowing me to set it only to beep once for incoming calls ?

If I were to set a beep ("ding") for call alert, the beep will be repeated, and the whole idea is to make it beep only once.

Also, is it possible to combine vibration AND a ringtone ?

Can you use bluetooh to Sync outlook? Can you use bluetooth with Windows? I want to be able to use the bluetooh to copy pictures and sounds to and from my phone.

Ok- Just Got the V505 1 Week Ago. Specs state the hands free is a 2.5mm jack. Sales person at ATT sold me a starter kit for Motorola (V180 & V220) he said it was compatible. Question: I dont think the handsfree jack for the V505 is 2.5 mm; do I need an adapter? I have not been able to find a handsfree (non bluetooth) to fit; everything I have found seems to be the 2.5mm single/straight plug type. Can you advise?

I'm in the market for a new phone this holiday season and I've narrowed my choices to 2 phones (3 if you want to get technical).

I like the Motorola V710 and the LG VX7000 and am having a tough time choosing 1 over the other. I've read many of the horror stories about the V710, but I don't usually let that sway me in my decisions about electronics (and am happier b/c of it). The only thing I don't like about the LG is the lack of speakerphone, and I'm also unfamiliar with the brand (are they reliable, quality phones?) Which should I go with?

(Also, does anyone have the release date for the LG VX8000... if it's soon I'll probably just wait for it)

I just received one Motorola v505 for myself and one added-line Sony-Ericsson t637 for my brother from AT&T.After 2 days with my phone and also trying his phone, I started having second thoughts about my Motorola.His phone is so simple and user friendly!!!I am thinking about returning v505 for another t637.Should I do it or is it a mistake?Please HELP!!! 😕

Anyone that actually works with the phones got anything good or bad to say about the v551??? I need a new phone and can't wait until the really good ones come out... I am usually anti Moto, but if this lives up to the reviews I may give them another shot... either this or the 6230, but that screen is just so damn small...

can anyone tell me why mototrola only makes the good solid phones for nextel and the iden network and not for anyone else? I had nextel and i really liked the phones for them but the service with them is about the worst in my area so i swiiched to cingular and man that was the best thing i have done, i have service in just about every place i go but the phones moto makes for them is cheap, i am a electrician so i need a tough phone but only nextel seems to have them, can anyone tell me why?

Does anyone know if any U.S. carriers will have this phone, or when it's official release is? They are starting to pop up on ebay and I've seen lots of picture of this phone, but so far I haven't seen anything on phonescoop or on motorola's website.

i just ordered my moto mpx220 yesterday 🙂 🤭 i just dont know if i made the right choice i wouldve gotten the Audiovox SMT 5600 but LetsTalk.com didnt have them there anymore so how is the phone working for the people that have it
